Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Protein blueberry pancakes

    • NicoleBrown on November 12, 2024

Ok I guess. Mine turned a gray-ish color due to the buckwheat flour. Batter spreads out quite a bit and is thin. Definitely tastes like a “health food”…and I don’t need things super sweet. Won’t repeat…unless I really need to use up the buckwheat flour.

  • Creamy mushroom soup

    • katskitchen on June 28, 2021

This is an interesting recipe. I like it but I feel like the seasoning is a bit overwhelming. I would cut down on that for next time or I would increase the mushroom amount to balance it. Personal taste but just my preference. I actually think because of the seasoning that it would be a pretty good gravy alternative. It is a little bit similar in consistency and flavor to a gravy that could pair well with potatoes.

  • Simple lentil spaghetti Bolognese

    • NicoleBrown on November 11, 2024

Unfortunately without any sugar added this sauce as written is waaaay too acidic. Added some sugar in to fix it. Recipe states it serves 4, but I’m pretty certain I have enough to feed 10 people. Hopefully it freezes well! Won’t be repeating…but for the amount of sauce I have probably a moot point.

  • Simple Spanish one-pot stew

    • Idril on November 11, 2024

Not his best - I only used half a lemon and never squeezed it and still found this too acidic with a lack of depth. Maybe my tomatoes were too acidic so I added a little honey to balance out. It was fine and obviously very healthy but I have made much nicer veggie stews before.

  • Sweet potato piri piri burger

    • corylavell on April 26, 2026

Good flavour but the texture was hopeless. Next time, I’ll try roasting the sweet potato chunks not steaming, so they’re near dry before I try and combine them with anything else…
