Dull formulaic, recipes, many many rice "casseroles."

  • Tuna-noodle casserole

    • ccav on March 01, 2021

Used German egg noodles, added scallions, sliced green onions (Manzanilla or garlic stuffed) to mixture before baking. Try panko or breadcrumb topping next time.

Great with Panko crumbs, marinated mushrooms, sliced cheddar over top (sprinkle breadcrumbs over)

  • Turkey or chicken Tetrazzine

This is a cute retro dish that turned out to be absolutely delicious. I made it pretty much per recipe, with rotisserie chicken, except for using panko on the top instead of more grated Parmesan. It is plenty cheesy without the cheese topping.

  • Chicken, ham, and rice casserole

    • anya_sf on July 14, 2021

I used this recipe as more of a template to use up what I had: 8 oz mushrooms, a yellow onion (instead of green), red bell pepper, fresh herbs (dill, parsley, chives) instead of dried, only ham (no chicken), mix of gruyere and jack cheeses. It made a perfectly serviceable dinner. Surprisingly, the cheese wasn't that noticeable.

  • Spaghetti squash with vegetables

Not very flavorful. But has potential if you're good at doctoring up bland recipes.
