    This recipe differs from my Mother's only by using olive oil rather than butter and providing an option beyond the griddle pan. I love to make this when I am alone because then when it disappears before reaching the table, no one is disappointed and I don't have to look sheepish. This is probably my favorite zucchini recipe.

• New potato salad with radish and dill

    I didn't love this. The flavors and textures didn't come together. It wasn't awful, just not a repeat.

• Split pea soup with pancetta and thyme (Ärtsoppa)

    This is a simple and comforting bowl of soup. I soaked the peas overnight, as outlined in the recipe, and after sauteing the other ingredients cooked this in a pressure cooker for twenty minutes, which was perfect.

• Rosemary salt Hasselback potatoes

    This recipe gets enough use I used it to justify a tool specifically for the hasselback cut.

• Fried chanterelles with garlic and parsley on toasted sourdough

    I cheat and use a light barley and rye bread beneath the butter fried chanterelles ... this is one of those perfect lunch dishes - and easy to adjust to however many you are serving.
