      Unable to find boneless short ribs, I used pre-cut "beef for stir-fry", which worked fine and saved me some time. I saved more time by cooking the beef separately while the pasta boiled. Added baby spinach and blanched broccoli florets, which tasted great with it, and there was plenty of sauce for everything.

      This turned out well. Took a bit longer than advertised but the flavours and texture were great. I added a sautéed onion before browning the sausage, and then deglazed with some red wine before adding the tomatoes. Much less work than my usual lasagne but still very good,

      Served with lingonberry jam, gurkensalat, and buttered parsley potatoes to mimic this month's article. I made two mistakes with this recipe which affected the appearance and texture. I used store bought bread crumbs and flipped once which ended up producing flat coating (not the beautiful undulating crust) and thicker flat tasting crust. Best to follow directions precisely. The sides tasted great though and did go very well together.
