Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Classic vanilla bean scones

    • Trackypup on March 30, 2026

They were ok. I found the 400 degrees to start too high. Burnt the bottoms a little and I have an oven thermometer. Tasted a bit like a sugar cookie.

  • Red bean scones with a sesame crust

    • Kfaber on May 14, 2026

Really tasty scone and great reheated from frozen

  • Blueberry white chocolate scones

    • Kfaber on May 14, 2026

Very good but a little on the sweet side

    • megbgraham on May 25, 2026

I didn’t cut in the butter right so they turned out ugly and too flat. But they had all the right flavor and they were still all eaten. Next time I’ll use a food processor to cut the butter in to the flour and then I’m sure they’ll turn out beautiful.

  • Peach almond scones

    • Kfaber on May 30, 2026

Delicious scone! Used fresh peaches which were great. Good almond flavor but might add 1/4 tsp almond extract next time for just a little more.

  • Butter pecan scones

    • laura_0h27jd on May 28, 2026

Easy to prepare, nice texture. Glaze was very good but could be served with a maple or honey butter on the side. Did not put them in the freezer as recommended. Will do that next time.

  • THE chocolate chip scones

    • megbgraham on May 25, 2026

These were perfect! Next time I may use less chocolate chips or may try it with chunks instead. But they were delicious!

  • Raspberry rose jam

    • megbgraham on May 25, 2026

I made the version in the note with blueberries and lemon zest. VERY sweet.

  • Chocolate peanut butter pudding cookies

    • nikki_ml27zt on April 30, 2026

The cookies themselves are probably 5/5 stars. They’re rich, fudgy, and have a bit of a crisp edge. I love anything peanut butter and chocolate so I’ll likely make them again. However, I followed the recipe exactly and only got 9 cookies instead of the listed 12 (I doubled checked my scoop and it was 4 tbsp as indicated in the recipe). I also would prefer weighted measurements included. Even with those notes, I’ll make again and probably attempt to double the recipe.

  • Better bakery sprinkle cookies

    • nikki_ml27zt on May 14, 2026

Easy recipe but does require almond paste which may not be a pantry staple for some. I baked a few testers after just one hour in the fridge and they turned out great! They are very sweet but delicious and the texture was wonderful! They didn’t crack when made same day, but I almost prefer the Same day texture to after letting it rest overnight.

Publishers Text

When Danielle Sepsy started baking scones for friends one day, she had no idea she would have her own successful whole-sale and online bakery, The Hungry Gnome—or that her scones would be sold in hundreds of coffee shops all over the tristate area and celebrated on a hit television show.

Here, in her first cookbook, The Scone Queen Bakes, Sepsy gives us over 100 recipes for scones, muffins, cookies, bars, breads, snacking cakes and other sweet treats, such as:

*Twelve different kinds of Sepsy’s famous scones (a scone for every month of the year!), including Funfetti Scones and THE Chocolate Chip Scone (the one that started it all) *Muffins, such as Blueberry Crumb, Double Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice, Raspberry Ricotta and more *Cookies! Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies, One Toff Cookies, Vegan Cookie Butter Chip Cookies, Strawberries & Cream Cookies, Italian Rainbow Cookies, and more *Three kinds of brownies, Lemon Icebox Bars, S’Mores Blondies, and more *Chocolate Date Tahini Buns, Cinnamon Raisin Bread, and French Toast Monkey Bread *Breads and Cakes such as Banana Nutella Snacking Cake, Cookie Butter Swirled Pumpkin Bread, and a Spumoni Loaf, to name just a few.
