    Oh my - this is so good. I used Topo Chico for the seltzer. You can adjust the sugar to your taste. So very refreshing and really different.

    Sauce was great, tasted a little sweet yet spicy. I forgot to use cooking spray so the wings were hard to get off the pan.

• Lady pea salad

    This is a nice healthy meal that is quick and can be made ahead of time. I had no luck finding lady peas so used frozen crowder peas instead. The tomato “bowls” were really great. The perfect way to eat this. I served French fries on the side too. The only adjustment I made was to use less broth since the frozen peas were already mostly cooked.

    This is basically greens with rice. It was good, but needed more salt. Topping it feta cheese and adding hot sauce made it much better.

    This is a good classic recipe. It works well and I thought the timing was perfect, just have to plan ahead a little.

• Chicken pot pie

    The addition of a pinch of poultry seasoning added a nice flavour. I used full fat coconut milk in place of heavy cream and it worked fine. I made two pies: one with crust as written and the other with a frozen puff pastry. The puff pastry was the favourite- for look, texture and taste - but the pie crust was a traditional favourite. All good.

    I used fresh tomatoes but would opt for canned next time. It was a lot more work and they didn’t cook as well. The flavors in this are amazing. Served with biscuits and eggs.

• Blueberry muffins

    A good muffin with nice, chewy texture...not too sweet, which I prefer. Especially good when re-heated just before eating! As is, the lemon and almond flavors are pretty subtle, which is fine, but depending on what flavor you're looking for, you could easily double either of these additions.

    The chocolate cake is perfect and moist. The frosting was a little strange, maybe I needed to whip it for longer, it was pretty thin and kind of melted over the cake and fell onto the plate. I would try stirring it a few more minutes then letting it cool at room temp for 5 minutes before spreading it next time. The only other issue I had was the cake stuck to the pan, definitely use parchment paper.

    Would add more strawberries and/or add some jam to the cupcake batter, but delicious, fresh summer recipe overall. Icing is amazing
