      Is this recipe different than all other corn tortilla recipes? NO. But his are the instructions that I follow every time. Something about the accessible writing and the small batch size.

      Wow, this was incredible! I used loads of mushrooms, and onions, and omitted the sugar.

      Super good vegan dinner. I've made it with homemade dough/hummus and also with store-bought ingredients. Great way to elevate hummus and pita into something worthy of calling supper.

  • Cardamom-brown sugar snickerdoodles

      Delicious soft-textured snickerdoodle. I included 2 tsp of cardamom in the dough, and for the outer sugar mixture used 2 Tbs. sugar, 1 tsp. cardamom, and 1 tsp Vietnamese cinnamon. The cardamom flavor in the finished cookie was present but subtle. Left out the vanilla because that seems anti-snickerdoodle. They're a little darker going into the oven than traditional snickerdoodles because of the brown sugar, so don't judge by color when deciding when to pull them out.

    The recipes in this book are pared down in size but not in flavor or technique. There's an entire chapter on tacos (Joe is from Texas), beautiful soups and stews, and small-scale desserts...

      I can’t say enough about this chutney....I put it on everything that doesn’t move. It really does spike up the flavor of meats, vegetables or even as a topping on crostini.
