Notes about Recipes in this book

  • The famous flu fighter

    • Susan_F on June 23, 2013

It may be all in my head, but if I have a cold or flu I definitely feel better after having this soup!

  • Purple power salad

    • Susan_F on June 23, 2013

Replaced the flaxseed oil with olive oil. Great looking salad.

  • The beta booster

    • DomiB on March 28, 2016

Delicious and very easy. Great as a side or for lunch.

  • Apple and cinnamon flapjacks

    • Susan_F on June 23, 2013

No, this was just not nice

  • Banana-peanut oat bars

    • PatriciaScarpin on February 01, 2015

These aren't good. :( They taste like rabbit food.

    • OlgaEatsThings on January 24, 2026

      These are very bland

  • Red peppers stuffed with herbed goat's cheese

    • Susan_F on May 05, 2014

Saw a great looking version of this on Dale Pinnock's facebook page. He used orange peppers and served with garlicky sweet potato mash. I also added some green beans which worked well with the dish.

  • Kale and potato salad with peanut chilli sauce

    • lauriedavison on April 27, 2015

really really wonderful receipe. Easy to prepare, quick and the sauce is sublime. I will be using this for other salads

  • Chickpea and sweet potato beta bake

    • Yorkshirepud on April 30, 2025

This was really good as a pretty quick & easy weeknight veggie dish. I also added some mushroom to the chickpea mix, and used cheddar instead of blue cheese on top. Made a separate portion for myself the first night, then left the remaining assembled traybake in the fridge ready for the next day. Works well as a prep ahead dish!

  • Beetroot, red onion and goat's cheese tart

    • Susan_F on June 23, 2013

Substituted crumbled feta instead of the goat's cheese. Tastes great but high in calories. Might try a low-fat pastry next time.

  • Good-night spiced cherry crumble

    • eeeve on February 03, 2019

Not a keeper; the crumble is way too dry and powdery, I needed to add double the amount of oil to sort of bring it together. After half an hour in the oven it still didn't look very appealing, so I ended up drizzling a bit of honey over. Also found the ratio of crumble to fruit wasn't right (too much crumble). It's not inedible (the toddler quite likes it in fact), but it just doesn't hit the right notes for me and the OH (even with bearing in mind that this is a healthy, dairy-free version).
