Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Rose, cardamom & pistachio porridge

    • radishseed on February 17, 2020

I've made this oatmeal a few times, without ever following the recipe as written. For one serving, I use 1 cardamom pod, half the quantity of oats, a mixture of coconut milk and water, and 1/4 t. of rosewater. I imagine the recipe as written is much richer, but I like it this way.

  • Potent pad Thai

    • eeeve on January 14, 2021

Thought this was okay - personally I found it a bit too sharp with all the lime juice, I'd probably add at the end to taste next time. DH didn't mind. Also needed a bit more soy sauce at the end (but hadn't used any additional salt in the recipe).

  • Blooming bean burgers with red cabbage & apple slaw

    • eeeve on January 13, 2021

The bean burgers were great when eaten fresh, but they were dry and horrible after freezing. Won't repeat. With regards to the slaw - I didn't really like it made as written. Found it really bland, it needed some acid (added cider vinegar), and after much deliberation also a tbsp of mayo.
