Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Chicken & spinach meatballs

    • Sparkles75 on July 22, 2019

Quite tasty, would make again. Chelsea suggests making own mince and leaving chunky but next time I would use pre made mince for ease of preparation. We served with papperdelle and it was great comfort food. Next time would omit parmesan stirred through sauce at the end as a tad too much when combined with feta in meatballs for our tastes

  • Chicken & rice comforter

    • Nikapai on February 11, 2018

So good. Great one pot dish, and it tastes amazing.

    • Sparkles75 on July 09, 2019

Mixed reviews. I thought it was nice enough, hubby liked it okay, kids both loved it and M.I.L said it was "bloody beautiful". I would make it again as it's easy, full of veggies and my kids wolfed it down without complaint and that's a win in my book.

  • Chelly con carne

    • Nikapai on February 11, 2018

A bit time consuming, but so worth it. Extremely tasty. I froze leftovers for another whole meal.

  • Sausage, bacon & bean hotpot

    • Nikapai on February 11, 2018

This dish converted me to liking sausages! It’s tasty, warming and universally liked in my family

    • Sparkles75 on August 22, 2019

I loved this. It's one of those humble dishes that taste so much better than it reads. The only change I made was to slice the sausages before browning and adding to casserole dish.

  • Mediterranean fish bake

    • Nikapai on February 11, 2018

Delicious. Really good to have a different way to eat fresh fish. Super tasty

  • Splendiferous soup

    • Nikapai on February 11, 2018

This soup is amazing. You can use any green veges in your fridge and it is packed with good things. It tastes heavenly.

  • Self-crusting spinach & feta quiche

    • Nikapai on February 11, 2018

Absolutely love this quiche. It’s super tasty and great not to have to make a crust. Easily a meal on its own

    • Sparkles75 on August 22, 2019

This was liked by everyone and very tasty. You could probably use a few boxes of defrosted frozen spinach too if you were pressed for time.

  • Cheesy baked courgettes

    • Solojones on January 24, 2026

Yummy and flexible. I'll put a scrape of pesto under the cheese. Hubby and 2 out of 3 kids like this so that's a win here!

  • Chelsea's famous kumara & bacon salad

    • Nikapai on February 11, 2018

I’ve never been a huge kumara fan, but this salad converted me. It is packed full of flavour, but also has heaps of texture (ie crunch!) which makes it so delicious. A perfect salad to bring to bbqs or potlucks, but I’ve also used it as a side to a bbq steak at home. A standout

  • Caramel apple cake

    • Sparkles75 on July 22, 2019

Everyone loved this cake! I feel it was even better the next day. Next time I will make sure I spread less batter for the base and push the apples right into the batter as otherwise you can end up with the bottom layer of boring cake without the yummy apple and caramel bits (being nit picky here)
