Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Hard- and soft-cooked eggs: steamed, grilled, and baked eggs

    • kbrooks on February 16, 2026

Steamed my eggs for an egg aioli Crostini recipe. After a lifetime of boiling water for hard cooked eggs, I am a convert to steaming them from here on in!

  • Scrambled eggs

    • Jviney on February 04, 2024

I never thought to shake the eggs in a jar rather than whisking them, and was so surprised at how much better combined they were with this method!

  • Ricotta scrambled eggs

    • Lepa on January 15, 2026

This is easy and good- a great way to use up those tiny bits of ricotta lingering in the refrigerator.

  • Double dill scrambled eggs

    • Lepa on July 02, 2022

Calling all dill lovers. This is a quick and delicious breakfast. I'm going to keep dill havarti on hand more often so I can enjoy this.

  • Pecan pumpkin spice pancakes

    • Lepa on February 25, 2022

These were okay but the thick batter meant they were a bit soft in the middle. Not undercooked, just not the texture I prefer. My husband and I thought these were a bit too sweet but when we added a dab of creme fraiche on top it balanced the flavors beautifully.

    • jay.moe on October 17, 2022

Used half the amount of ginger and nutmeg as these spices tend to quickly overpower the flavor for me. I also added more milk since the batter seemed a little thicker than I like. The pancakes were tender and fluffy. Definitely worth making again!

  • Finnish oven pancake (Pannukakku)

    • tarae1204 on February 27, 2022

Beautiful rise and good flavor. Not too sweet. Slices well.

    • Rinshin on March 18, 2022

Made using a pie plate preheated with butter in the oven using half the recipe. Mine was done in 12 min. Little more denser in the middle than I expected but has a good flavor. Served with fresh cut up pineapple pieces. Very easy to make and perfect for a family sized brunch.

  • Bacon and beet hash

  • Cardamom half-pound loaf cake

    • breakthroughc on August 02, 2023

The cardamon flavor was lovely, but my cake was a bit dense and dry. I baked it 10 minutes longer than the recipe stated as the it took that long before the top wasn’t wet and a toothpick came out clean. My friends liked it, but I don’t think I would make again. Served with blackberries and whipped cream.
