Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Chicken tikka skewers

    • Lepa on August 18, 2023

My family loved these. Because they were marinated the night before, all you have to do to make dinner is thread them onto skewers and broil them- so easy! Definitely going into our regular rotation.

  • Roasted tomato tarka with yogurt

    • lean1 on May 20, 2023

terrific flavor. Love all kinds of roasted tomatoes.

    • Lepa on August 18, 2023

This is a fantastic dish. I used in-season sun golds and it couldn't be easier- or more delicious. We ate this with naan and chicken tikka skewers from the same book and my kids declared it "the best dinner in a long time."

  • Chopped kachumber salad

    • Lepa on October 24, 2023

This is a refreshing and tasty salad, the perfect foil to a rich Indian dish.

    • tarae1204 on November 16, 2023

An easy and crunchy accompaniment to a rich Indian meal, but would be just as good as a side salad anywhere.

  • Warm chickpea salad with cool lime cucumbers

    • Bessp on July 12, 2025

This was a quick and tasty vegetarian dish. I already had the pickled onions, so that helped. I doubled the chickpea mixture to make it a mains sized portion, and I served it with a spicy yellow dal for some extra protein. The masala is pretty simple, could definitely be customized easily for a different flavor profile.

  • Herby roasted potatoes

    • rachelsmitty on January 27, 2025

Outstanding! Only comment is that this recipe feeds 2-3 instead of 4, so I’ll double this recipe going forward. My potatoes didn’t get too browned, so next time I’ll turn on the broiler for a few minutes to get a little more texture.

  • Tandoori cauliflower steaks

    • rachelsmitty on January 27, 2025

Delicious! Admittedly I didn’t weigh my cauliflower and it was a large head — I kept thinking I should have doubled the tandoori marinade, but 1x was actually just right even though the application looked thin. Spice-wise, it was just perfect with the thin layer.

  • Classic saag with crispy paneer

    • tarae1204 on November 16, 2023

This recipe for saag paneer was absolutely delicious. The spinach puree was flavorful and nuanced, with an amazing texture from the addition of yogurt. Just perfection. I have no adjustments or comments on how the recipe was written.

  • Comforting chickpeas and potatoes

    • Bessp on February 27, 2026

This lives up to its name, it is very comforting. The spice is super mild, which I like, and the buttery Yukon gold potatoes work well. I served with cilantro lime rice because I had it left over. I subbed the coconut milk for ricotta because I had some of that that needed eating. This is a great meal on its own, or a good base recipe you can fancy up.

  • Turkey keema with sweet potatoes

    • tarae1204 on November 20, 2023

Sweet and flavorful. This recipe works well as written. The rice and suggested condiment (cucumber mint raita) can be made when the turkey and sweet potatoes simmer for 25 minutes.
