  • Chicago deep-dish pizza

      This was surprisingly easy to make. Crust was crispy and sturdy, really great flavor. My Chicago born husband really loved it.

      This was really good and easy to make. The dough was super soft and easy to spread. The fillings were very flavorful. The thing I would change is to not cook on the lowest shelf in the oven and maybe decrease the cooking time by a few minutes. It ended up too brown and thick. But, I would definitely make this again.

  • Braised pork Marbella

      Hearty and delicious, I liked this better than chicken marbella. After 2.5 hrs of braising, the sauce had cooked down to the point where there wasn't much left (would have loved more) and the seasoning was concentrated, so I definitely didn't need to add more salt at the end. Couscous and steamed green beans were nice accompaniments. I bet carrots would taste good cooked in the sauce.

  • Curried sweet potato soup with spiced pepitas

      This soup is so good. It's spicy and salty and filling. I made 1.5x the recipe and added 1/2lb of bacon to the pepitas mixture, which was much needed too I think. Otherwise I didn't have to make any changes to the soup, it was perfect and definitely going into our rotation.

  • Coriander salmon with beets, oranges, and avocados

      Very nice combination, and very quick and easy. I cooked the salmon in the air fryer for convenience, as I didn't care about the skin. I wouldn't have minded more zest and coriander on the salmon. Served the salad over a bed of arugula, which went nicely with it, and also bulked it up - it's pretty light otherwise. I'd use less salt in the vinaigrette next time.

  • Sopa seca

      This was really satisfying, and my kids liked it. I used Mexican oregano and swapped out bacon for the chicharrones. The sauce seemed a little too thick to be fully absorbed by the noodles, but the resulting consistency was still good.

  • Strawberry cobbler

      Very nice and simple dessert. I cut the recipe in half since I didn’t have that many strawberries and there are only two of us. The topping was really good, and preparation was quite easy, with good instructions. I thought there could have been about half as much sugar, as the strawberries wound up being quite sweet - and it’s not even the season yet so the berries weren’t all that sweet to begin with. I’ll likely make this again, and may try the black pepper option as they suggested.

      I wish I had paid attention to the other user's notes that the strawberries were too sweet. I agree--less sugar would have been nice. We liked it, but honestly, we just don't love cooked strawberries. I won't make again due to our preferences, but the recipe was decent.
