  • Many bean soup

    • Lhardin on March 11, 2012

Tossed in 1/4 tsp fresh minced garlic and a Tbsp of Balsamic vinegar at the finish. Very tasty.

Really delicious and filling soup. I only had 5 of the 7 bean varieties, so I doubled two of them and I did not have any split peas so I also doubled the lentils. Took the previous reviewers advice and added garlic (3 cloves, minced) at the beginning and 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar to finish the soup. Makes a lot, can easily feed 6-8 people.

  • White chicken chili

Very easy and great if you aren't home. We added some shredded cheddar and parsley for color. Served with garlic bread.

  • Corned beef and cabbage braised in Riesling

  • Cranberry Port sauce

    • Aggie92 on December 29, 2015

This was a big hit with all of my Christmas dinner guests. The only thing I did different was cook the sauce on the stovetop over medium heat until the cranberries popped. Why cook cranberry sauce in the slow cooker for 3-4 hours when you can make it in 20 minutes or less in a pot. Definitely make this at least 1 day ahead to let the flavors meld.
