Pizza Dough recipe is very good and very useful (8 hour version; 1 hour version).

  • Beef and broccoli with Szechwan chili sauce

    • sarahawker on January 16, 2017

Quite good, simple but the elements took more time than expected to prep. Went together quickly afterward. Kids enjoyed but this is not the "sweet" sticky Beef and Broccoli that you get from take-out.

  • The best macaroni and cheese

    • Couture911 on September 20, 2010

This is really, really good stuff. When I first discovered this recipe I made it over and over again because it was so good. But then everyone's pants started getting tight and I had to switch over to the low-fat version from the Moosewood low-fat cookbook. I still make this from time to time, when I want high-fat, high-carb comfort food.

  • Bacon-wrapped meat loaf with brown sugar-ketchup glaze

My go to meatloaf for years,

    • sarahawker on November 17, 2020

Solid meatloaf, not dry, plenty of flavor. Favorite of the boys for the bacon alone. I've used all beef, mix of beef and pork and beef and turkey. They all work.

    • louie734 on January 18, 2018

Just what meatloaf should be. Used meatloaf mix in its equal proportions instead of the extra ground chuck. Seasonings are just right, oatmeal is a great binder, and the glaze is perfect. (Oh! and having no Worcestershire... but, inexplicably, Pickapeppa sauce ... it worked perfectly, and I'd use it again!) I separated this (giant) recipe into 2 smaller meatloaves, which each made 3-4 servings and cooked in slightly less time.

  • Hearty beef stew with green peas and carrots

    • sarahawker on November 17, 2020

Basic Delicious Stew. It takes awhile, just browning the beef is time consuming, but a couple of times a year this is the recipe we follow.

  • Beef stew with root vegetables

    • sarahawker on November 17, 2020

This is the recipe that got us eating those CSA turnips. I peel them every time, and a par-boil helps get them as tender as the family wants them.

  • Southern-style corn bread

    • MNR_T on October 02, 2020

      This is so good/easy/gluten-free!

  • Light and fluffy pancakes

  • Cornmeal-citrus cookies

    • KatieK1 on January 03, 2022

Simply hand-press the dough balls onto the silicone covered cookie sheets. The author's method does not work. That said, the cookies are delicious.

Yum yum yum. I made this and had my mom and her boyfriend, Rudy (my photography life-coach) over for dinner and everyone loved this dish.

This recipe produces one of the easier crusts I’ve worked with and I hope it will be the same for you.
