  • Carrot cake

    • nicolthepickle on November 14, 2014

I love this recipe. It's my favourite carrot cake. It's not a very large cake though.

    • KissTheCook on October 30, 2018

I plan to use this recipe next, as I substituted his spice variety in another recipe resulting in great flavor, but that cake fell in the middle. His quantities are 1/2 other recipes. I will double his, but take care to keep batter/pan ratio intact and bake a little longer, covering with aluminum foil end of bake time if browning too much. These type cakes, like banana bread, taste better made a day or two ahead to "cure", if you can find the time.

  • Pita bread

    • twoyolks on May 16, 2013

These did not puff up at all and instead became dry and covertly crisp. The instructions in the recipe are not clear as the text says to put the dough on cold baking sheets and then place them in the whereas the caption to one of the pictures refers to placing the dough on hot baking sheets.

  • Popovers

    • twoyolks on January 19, 2014

The popovers did rise greatly. However, they had very little flavor in themselves other than the burned oil that was added to grease the pan (which then, per the recipe instructions, was returned to the oven for a minute).

  • Professional-style buttercream

    • nicolthepickle on November 14, 2014

The weight and amount of butter in this recipe are not the same. I use the larger amount. It's an editing mistake.
