The standard for chocolate chip cookies!

The almond extract adds a wonderful, unexpected layer of flavor. Family favorite.

  • White chocolate-macadamia nut cookies

I like the coconut addition. I used unsweetened coconut flakes instead of sweetened & since the macadamia nuts were salted, I used kosher Diamond Crystal instead of regular. I didn’t pack the brown sugar down to measure it, since it seemed like a lot of sugar, & it was definitely still on the sweet side. I wasn’t sure what temperature to cook it at, but since I wanted smaller crunchier cookies, I used 350F. Nice cookies that can be adjusted to taste. They puffed up & didn’t deflate like some chocolate chip cookies do.

Page 265. Bit too heavy on the vodka for my personal taste. I think I would have enjoyed this with more Chambord or a squeeze of lemon.

Publishers Text

A celebration of more than 50 years of wonderful food at Neiman Marcus's restaurants, with 150 of their most popular dishes, published for the first time.

Ninety-six years ago, the founders of Neiman Marcus devised an enduring mission statement: for customers to expect extraordinary merchandise and superior service in an elegant environment. The concept holds strong today, and Neiman Marcus's first nationally published cookbook is everything you would expect. The extraordinary recipes, superior photographs, and beautiful design will delight any home cook, and especially those nostalgic for their favorite Neiman Marcus meal.

Choose from appetizers such as Firecracker Lobster Spring Rolls and Thai Chicken Satay, the Neiman Marcus Orange Souffle and Neiman Marcus Chicken Salad, sandwiches like he Smoked Salmon with Red Onion Relish, and even the famous (and delicious) Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie, which was the subject of a persistent--but totally unfounded--urban myth.

Peppered with stories of the early days of the Neiman Marcus restaurants and the people behind them and illustrated with spectacular location shots of the restaurants and their vibrant dishes, Neiman Marcus Cookbook is surely a cookbook worthy of its name.
