Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Spicy butterflies (Farfalle piccanti)

    • Breadcrumbs on April 25, 2011

      p. 65 First use of this recipe and book. Both delighted. Super-simple to pull together and even quicker to cook. The prosciutto was a wonderful touch in the sauce adding a saltiness and a toothy texture. Quick, delicious, nice and not too heavy spring meal. K-8.5 (added chicken to his) S-9

  • Broccoli roll (Rotolo di broccoli)

    • patti599 on April 21, 2023

I brushed the inside and top with Italian dressing. Balanced the strong broccoli very nicely.

  • Sicilian fig cookies (Cucidati)

    • LauraMB on December 24, 2025

I've made these twice. My husband, a chocolate-lover, declared them to be the best cookies I ever made. I add brandy or sweet marsala to the filling. I don't ice the cookies until they cool. I use powdered sugar and orange zest and juice. Sprinkles of course.
