It's an idea that has caught on big. Instead of ending a meal by presenting diners with a hunk of something that makes them say I couldn't possibly, offer them two or three irresistible morsels of sweetness that prompt exclamations of "Who could possibly resist?"

The authors translate favorite restaurant mini-desserts into delicious and eminently doable recipes for the home cook - from bite-sized cheesecakes and tiny chocolate donuts to wee coffee lollipops on cinnamon sticks. Some of the recipes are for treats that were bite-sized to begin with, like the Sugar Frosted Frozen Grapes, and others like Red Velvet Cake, have been miniaturized to become part of the fun. There are chapters on fruit desserts, cookies, tiny cakes, and a spectacular group of candies that require equipment no more complicated than a thermometer and a pastry bag.
