Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Blueberry sweet potato waffles

    • raybun on June 19, 2016

These were a total disaster! I followed the recipe to the letter, and ended up with a soggy sweet potato mess. The blueberries all exploded in the waffle maker and stuck to the surface and burnt before the waffle was ready. I will attempt these one more time without the blueberries, I really want to love them...

  • Baked onion bhaji with mint-cucumber raita

    • hbakke on February 24, 2022

I turned this into a lettuce wrapped burger with the raita sauce on top. The flavor and spices were good, but the texture was pretty dry (reminiscent of falafel) possibly because I subbed coconut flour for chickpea flour. I've never had bhaji so I don't have anything to compare it to, but these made a nice dinner.

  • Apple and kohlrabi slaw with lemon-mint chia seed dressing

    • SenseiHeidi on September 20, 2020

This is an incomplete recipe. There is not enough acid and no salt or black pepper, making it very boring. The nuts should be roasted and salted. Also, what size of kohlrabi? I can buy ones that are the size of a small apple or bigger than a softball. I spent 10 minutes adding salt, pepper, vinegar, etc. until I got somthing tasting like a slaw.

  • Tomato keftedes and cauliflower tabouleh salad

    • SugarFree_Vegan on July 18, 2016

This is an amazingly easy and oh so tasty dish, the tomatokeftedes are something I've not come across before but will be a keeper for me. The Cauliflower Tabouleh (made entirely from cauliflower) and tzatziki add such a range of flavours and textures to a very healthy meal of 170 calories. A real winner.

Publishers Text

The definitive cookbook for recipes using a spiralizer: the countertop tool that turns your vegetables and fruits into imaginative, low-carb dishes.

On her wildly popular blog, Inspiralized, Ali Maffucci is revolutionizing healthy eating. Whether you’re low-carb, gluten-free, Paleo, or raw, you don’t have to give up the foods you love. Inspiralized shows you how to transform more than 20 vegetables and fruits into delicious meals that look and taste just like your favorite indulgent originals. Zucchini turns into pesto spaghetti; jicama becomes shoestring fries; sweet potatoes lay the foundation for fried rice; plantains transform into “tortillas” for huevos rancheros.

Ali’s recipes for breakfast, snacks, appetizers, sandwiches, soups, salads, casseroles, rices, pastas, and even desserts are easy to follow, hard to mess up, healthful, and completely fresh and flavorful. Best of all, she tells you how to customize them for whatever vegetables you have on hand and whatever your personal goal may be—losing weight, following a healthier lifestyle, or simply making easy meals at home.

Here, too, are tons of technical tips and tricks; nutritional information for each dish and every vegetable you can possibly spiralize; and advice for spiralizing whether you’re feeding just yourself, your family, or even a crowd. So bring on a hearty appetite and a sense of adventure—you’re ready to make the most of the hottest gadget in your kitchen.
