  • Aromatic steamed rice

      I didn't get a lot of the aromatic flavor in the steamed rice but it didn't exactly taste like plain rice. I substituted medium grain for short grain rice.

  • Hard watermelon lemonade

      This is lemon flavored foremost with a hint of watermelon. The tequila really works well and compliments the lemonade. It's not overly sugary. It's well balanced between sweet, sour, and alcohol.

  • Mac and cheese salad with buttermilk dressing

      A really nice pasta salad with a good amount of flavor. I really liked the addition of lettuce to give it some crunch. I didn't use mâche as I had a lot of green leaf lettuce growing the garden that I wanted to use.

  • Grilled lamb skewers with red wine and honey glaze

      These were perfectly fine, but nothing special. There are better lamb recipes so I wouldn’t make again.

      This is a fun cocktail to go with Mediterranean food. We double the ouzo in the recipe as otherwise it is barely there. Don’t skip the espresso bean/coffee bean garnish it does add a depth of flavor that goes well with the cocktail.
