Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Salt beef with horseradish mash

    • Frenchfoodie on July 20, 2018

The salt beef was tasty, I marinaded for 5 days but would perhaps try longer next time as the spices gave a good taste. Dill vinaigrette was fine, not particularly exciting but looked and tasted good.

  • Duck ragù with crisp porridge wedges

    • Frenchfoodie on July 20, 2018

Ragù was tasty and rich. I liked the porridge wedges a lot more than I thought I would, it was a nice alternative to polenta. They are both rich though so need some nice al dente broccoli or other fresh veg on the side.

  • Onion petal spätzle

    • Dishyrishie on January 16, 2016

Needs a bit more flavour. Season well. But easy to make and good texture to spatzle

  • Dark chocolate and cherry cookies

    • Frenchfoodie on July 20, 2018

These are great. I’ve subbed in vanilla extract when I didn’t have any almond and they were still good. Baking from frozen works too. Do drain the cherries well and pat dry or they leave soggy patches.
