Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Hot halloumi pilaf with broad beans, peas & herbs

    • Breadcrumbs on June 05, 2015

      p. 150 – Yum! This was such a different and delicious pilaf. I grilled my Haloumi since we love it that way. The herbs ensured the dish was light-tasting, fresh, flavourful and fragrant. This is a perfect company dish as it comes together in no time, has excellent visual appeal and tastes great. Top marks for this dish from all. A real keeper. • Chickpea and courgette fritter wrap

    • Cvtbird on March 20, 2021

I think you need 2 or 3 eggs in this mix too, otherwise the mix is very dry. Makes 15-20 fritters. Left over mix is even better the next day.

  • Tahini tomato sauce

    • Breadcrumbs on June 24, 2015

      p. 194 – The photo of the creamy red sauce caught my eye and when I read of the new-to-me combination of tahini with tomatoes I just had to give this a try as it sounded delicious. Even so, it still managed to exceed my expectations. This sauce is incredible. This is the kind of recipe that singlehandedly makes the investment in a book worthwhile…it’s that good! The sauce is at once rich, tangy, creamy and nutty. I served it atop some beef kaftas and the sauce was absolutely brilliant with them but I could see it working equally well with any grilled meat. I can’t wait to serve this to guests at my next bbq. I just can’t say enough good things about this sauce. Photo here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/1017155?commentId=9616520#9616520
