Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Shrimp in lobster sauce

    • bching on August 15, 2015

This is a good recipe--a family favorite. But I have to be coaxed to make it. Although this book promises streamlined Chinese cooking, this is a multi-step preparation. I streamline by preparing some of the components in multiples and freezing for the next round.

  • Cantonese-style spareribs

    • bching on August 21, 2018

Tasty but not outstanding given the amount of work involved. Another solid recipe from this book that does not qualify as "express" from a 2018 perspective.

  • Spicy orange-ginger lamb

    • eve_kloepper on February 23, 2015

Very delicious, even with canned waterchestnuts. A favorite lamb recipe.

  • Four-spice chicken drumsticks

    • chawkins on September 06, 2013

Our favorite grilled drumsticks. I marinated them for 9 hours. The aroma from the marinade was intoxicating every time the refrigerator door was opened. My husband grilled them to perfection, they were moist, tender and fragrant.
