Out of the many cookbooks I have used, this one stands out as one of the best. I have made quite a few recipes from it and they all turned out well. His directions are excellent and the flavor combinations are outstanding. My copy is full of notes such as "really, really good" (Spiced Cornmeal Shortbread), "even better than he says" (Cranberry Maple-Pecan Sticky Buns) and "great!" (Scotch Oatmeal Christmas Bread and the Peaches and Cream Pie). The Praline Sandies are my very favorite cookie ever. Also outstanding is the Peaches and Cream Pie.
