    Yes I agree with foodgloriousfood. I compared the recipes and although the layout of the index is slightly different, it is actually the same book under a different name, and the publication date is 2022 and the other 2015. I am glad I borrowed the library’s copy first as I was excited to go ahead and order this “new” book as I enjoyed his book “Dinner Pies”. I could not find new recipes. If you don’t own the 2015 “Dinner Pies” by all means purchase the 2022 “Savory Dinner Pies”. Just don’t buy both. I really think a publishing history should be available so people aren’t misled.

    After intro, tools, ingredients, "Working w/ Dough," SDP has 6 chapters: "Pie Doughs and Pastries" covers basic doughs + several unusual ones (Yeasted Butter Pastry, Cheddar Cheese Pastry, Pumpkin Sage Biscuit Crust, etc.) "Savory Hand Pies, Turnovers & Pizzas" --Tuscan-Style Pork Turnovers + Eggplant Parmesan Pizza. "Pot Pies" -- classics + creative pies (Moroccan Pot Pie, Taco Pot Pie). Shepherd & Meat pies --Shepherd's Pie, Tourtiere, Aussie Meat Pies, etc. "Little Pies, Tarts & Galettes" -- Tomato & Pesto Galette, French Onion Tart, Mini Hot Crab Tarts, Pepperoni Pizza Bites + more. Quiche chapter -- lots of (bacon etc.) quiches. "Cobblers, Strudels & Other Wrapped Entries" -- just 2 veg (Veg Strudel, Kale Spanakopita) + several omni. There are also measurement equivalents + an index. Overall it's an approachable cookbook with enough classic & creative recipes to satisfy both kinds of finicky palates. Not for vegans like me but good for most. 4 stars.

      Not my favorite crust recipe, but it worked well enough. I cooked the filling a little longer before putting it in the pie because I like the meat softer. I made these double crusted, three small pies used the whole batch of dough. The filling was beautiful, my favorite beef pie that I've tried.
