  • Brussels sprouts-apple salad with Parmesan

    • Lepa on July 26, 2022

This is my kind of salad. I love shaved, raw brussels sprouts, apples and mustard and the combination is just lovely. Even my kids loved this salad. We ate this salad with cheese/dijon scones and it was a perfect summer supper.

  • Radish & cauliflower salad with buttermilk dressing

    • SpatulaCity on July 16, 2024

Love this salad! Crunchy, fresh and delicious!

  • Roast lemon chicken with coconut milk

    • SpatulaCity on July 16, 2024

This was good and we enjoyed it. The potatoes picked up a bit of bitterness - not sure where that came from

  • Smashed cucumber, avocado & peach salad

    • SpatulaCity on July 15, 2024

Delicious! The peaches are the star. I would add avocados at the end so they don’t get all mushy when mixing and tossing. Added a sprinkle of sumac, and subbed pine nuts for the pumpkin seeds.

  • Home made stracciatella

    • SpatulaCity on April 15, 2023

Made this to go with the leek, oyster mushroom recipe in the next page. I’ve never had the authentic form before, so not sure how close of a replica this is - but it was tasty!

  • Stracciatella with leeks & oyster mushrooms

    • SpatulaCity on April 15, 2023

Delicious! Worked well for a party appetizer, served alongside toasted ciabatta rubbed with garlic. My leeks didn’t brown in the final strep, so I broiled for a few minutes. Also, totally obvious but I didn’t do it - it is imperative to really use the darkest green part to get the bright green leek oil. I used the medium green bits and the color was more lime green. Still pretty though! My leeks were small so used four for this recipe instead of two.

  • Strawberry, yogurt, green tea & cardamom shake

    • SpatulaCity on March 11, 2024

Simple and nice. Could not taste the green tea, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Used fresh berries instead of frozen. The honey and cardamom on top is delightful

  • Hazelnut-choco-banana bread

    • SpatulaCity on November 08, 2023

Going to try this recipe again. Used purchased hazelnut spread and maybe that’s where I went wrong… Regardless the instruction to bake for 35-45 minutes is completely off. It will need at least 60. I pulled the bread too early and it couldn’t be saved :( The edges that were baked were very dense so I’m wondering if additional leavening would be needed too.

Like the other note on this recipe, I found that the bake time needed to be adjusted to about 60 minutes before the toothpick started to come out clean (I covered the bread with foil for the last 15 minutes to help keep the top from burning). I used an 8x4 loaf pan. The bread turned out quite dense, and despite my attempt at swirling the batters, most of the Nutella batter stayed in the middle as a separate layer instead of creating the marbled effect. Maybe this was because I used store-bought hazelnut spread?

  • Red lentil soup

    • MollyPellecchia on February 19, 2024

Simple lentil soup. Quite delicious. Will definitely add to the rotation.
