  • Chipotle wings

    • Lsblackburn1 on June 17, 2024

Really tasty sauce on these. Would make again. Didn’t serve with sour cream and didn’t miss it.

  • Spicy garlic potatoes and garlic dip

    • Xyz123 on March 08, 2021

      Loved the potatoes.

  • Chicken & beef kefta

    • Running_with_Wools on August 10, 2025

These were delicious full of fresh, herby flavor. I served them with yogurt sauce, hummus, tomato, onion and sumac sauce (from Milk Street Mediterranean), tomato cream cumber salad, and the garlic flatbread from the same cookbook. We cooked on a cast iron griddle heated up on our grill. They were soft when placed on the griddle and a bit hard to handle, but became easy to turn when they started cooking and form up. Do not place these directly on a grill or they will fall through the grates. Definitely a keeper!

    • Cassondra on January 24, 2026

Great flavor. I was skeptical about adding tahini to meat but I loved it. The meat mixture wasn’t as firm as I expected. After doing the first few keftas on the grill pan on the skewers, I ended up just taking them off the skewers before grilling. The skewers were in my way and it was just easier for me. We ate this with tzatziki (store-bought, we love the Trader Joe’s one).

  • Garlic flatbread

    • Running_with_Wools on August 10, 2025

Best yogurt flatbread recipe I’ve tried so far. Leave three hours for the rise. I patted handfuls of dough into shape, didn’t bother with sectioning them or creating separate balls. Made six. Somehow these also didn’t smoke up my house, maybe because you pat a bit if water on just before cooking. This will be my go to when I’ve got time for the rise.

  • Chicken taco salad

    • Lsblackburn1 on July 10, 2021

Easy and delicious summer dinner. I used ground turkey and queso fresco. The cilantro vinaigrette is very tasty.

  • Thai beef salad

    • Lsblackburn1 on June 23, 2021

Tasty summer dinner. I think mint would be a good addition- and more peanuts!

  • Baby kale, goat cheese, candied walnuts & lentil salad

    • Lsblackburn1 on August 25, 2025

Nice hearty salad. Made as written, but I wasn’t sure if it was meant to be one cup cooked or dried lentils. Went with one cup dried, which was probably too much.

  • Emily's chicken & white bean chili verde

    • Lsblackburn1 on May 20, 2021

Tasty weeknight dinner. Served with avocado, tortillas and cheese. Also added some fresh corn I had.

  • Lemon broccoli pesto pasta

    • Rachaelsb on July 07, 2021

      Very flavorful, very California taste.

  • Chipotle chorizo mac 'n' cheese

    • Lsblackburn1 on May 23, 2021

Loved this! I used 8 oz. chorizo and did not find this overly rich or too heavy. Served with kale salad.

    • Xyz123 on October 30, 2021

This was too rich for me, but the rest of the family enjoyed it.

  • Garlic kale pizza

    • Xyz123 on March 08, 2021

      This was good!

  • Modern-day Margherita pizza

    • Xyz123 on March 08, 2021

This is the only way to make a margherita pizza! Perfection!

  • Kale & leek crostata

    • Lsblackburn1 on April 04, 2021

Delicious side dish for lamb chops! I misread the recipe and just added the flour and milk to the kale and leeks -no problem! (and extra 4T. of butter we’re not missed). Crust was lovely!

  • Jerk chicken burger

    • hbakke on February 23, 2021

I subbed green cabbage for red cabbage. The different components to this burger tasted fine on their own, but together were not my favorite. I did oversalt the burger patties a bit, so that may have factored into my opinion.

  • Miso cod bowls

    • Christinehomecook on February 24, 2021

I substituted salmon for black cod with good results.

  • Cauliflower shawarma bowl

    • Lsblackburn1 on August 28, 2025

Loved this! I’d made the tahini dressing for the other recipe, so this was super fast to make. Made sandwiches with pitas. The crunch from the cabbage goes great with the soft cauliflower.

  • Street food pad Thai

    • EmilyR on September 06, 2021

This made a sizable quantity, which wasn't helped because I added chicken and tofu, too. The tamarind and lime make this a bit tart. I thought it could use more salt / soy. Sorry no photo, I used red thai noodles and it looked like a shag carpet when finished. Glad it tasted decent considering.

  • Chicken posole

    • LifeofPie on November 07, 2022

This is so good. It seemed a little bit lame to me when I was making it but I stuck to the instructions and didn't veer off and do what I wanted to do along the way, like deglazing that pan with all the good stuff on the bottom left behind among other things. I mainly made it to use up a can of hominy sitting on the shelf. But in the end the flavor is all here. I wish the shopping list would have included the lime, cilantro, cotija and avocado as toppings, but I did have a little cheese, added a squeeze of sour cream to the bowl and had some tortilla chips on hand for the finished bowl. I'd make this again for sure! I might add a smidge more pepper flakes since I like things medium spicy.

  • Ground pork red curry bowl

    • mpo on January 03, 2025

I made this with ground chicken and yellow curry paste which I had open. But I’ve made curries with 2 T of red curry paste like this calls for and it was inedible because it was too hot. So, I still would not use that much red curry paste, very good though. Added some broccoli in the end, over white rice, and it had take out vibes.

  • Butter chicken with roti

    • Lsblackburn1 on July 14, 2022

This recipe calls for a lot of fat - one stick butter and 3 cups of cream ( and a cup of full fat yogurt)! The flavors were nice and the result was a delicious (and high calorie!) curry. I used 1/2 tsp of cayenne, which was the right spice level for me, and only marinated the chicken for 6 hours. I’d probably try halving the butter and cream next time, but that would probably throw off the spice ratios….

  • Roasted carrots with avocado

    • southerncooker on May 01, 2021

I used the multi-colored small whole carrots I got recently at Trader Joes. These were delicious and went so well with the avocado. I didn't make her salsa verde that went on top after cooking, since I didn't need much and also didn't have any cilantro. I used basil and Italian parsley off my plants chopped fine and added a little roasted garlic powder and EVOO.

  • Homemade smoky pinto beans

    • EmilyR on May 05, 2021

These are excellent and very flavorful.

  • Green rice

    • Lsblackburn1 on May 27, 2021

I just added all of the vinaigrette to the rice and the water and cooked it together in the rice cooker. This seemed to work and the result was very tasty.
