Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Pea soup with crispy ham croûtons

    • joanne761994 on April 11, 2026

A wonderfully simple but extremely tasty soup. Both my kids gobbled it up and asked for seconds. Made a few changes - I did a mix of butter and oil on the croutons and didn't bake the Parma ham onto the croutons. We put the ham on top of the soup with the croutons and watercress. Incredibly delicious and lovely to have a mix of textures. We will.be making this one again.

  • Pepperoni chicken traybake

    • joanne761994 on May 19, 2026

Great recipe. It makes a lot more sauce than you'll eat- it's delicious though so we've saved it for a pasta sauce for tomorrow evening. The kids demolished it and asked me to make it again- they're affectionately calling it "pizza chicken" Served with green beans, peas and garlic bread. If I was doing this just for adults I'd probably do a nice green salad and baguette to mop up any sauce.

  • Chicken & saffron orzo

    • joanne761994 on April 03, 2026

Incredibly good. The saffron and lemon are incredibly well balanced and the chicken is very moist. Definitely will be making this again! I think it could handle some veg being included- something to experiment with.

  • Easy cheesy pasta

    • joanne761994 on April 11, 2026

We've made this many times. A simple, comforting pasta dish beloved by all the kids. What's not to love?

  • Cod with mushrooms & cauliflower purée

    • CarlBoddy on February 18, 2023

The ratio of stock and cream with the cauliflower produced a delicious cauliflower soup that was similar in consistency to a canned tomato soup and needed a spoon to eat. It was in no way a puree that could be eaten with a fork.
