    Nadiya’s Family Favourites is a honest cookbook full of interesting family recipes and an insight into her own home life, from her husband clearing the garage weekly, her children’s different food tastes and eating at the weekend when the family is on the go. This book has 6 chapters including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinners, Snacks & Sharers, Something Sweet and Cakes. The sampler book has 12 recipes, each recipe in the sampler comes with a short introduction, excellent instructions and full colour photography. The recipes are mostly prepared or cooked within an hour, some chilled overnight. I received this book from netgalley/penguin in return for a honest review.

  • Not prawn toast

      These are lovely and work really well as a cheap alternative to prawn toasts. It’s a very simple mix, which could easily be improved or changed depending on what you fancy. I’d add some more chilli, some grated ginger and spring onions next time.

      I've only made the flatbread/wrap part of this but it was really delicious and even got eaten by a fussy toddler. Will make again.

      I found the liquid rice ratio to be perfect. Cooked mine in a non stick pan and had delicious crispy edges.

      This is indeed what it promises, not quite cake but not quite biscuit either. They were good but I wasn’t a fan of the look.
