Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Jam layer flapjacks

    • ShayLRoss on April 01, 2026

Unfortunately these were way too sweet for me with the inclusion of jam and chocolate , but the results did turn out well and stuck together.

  • Sweet potato jalapeño gratin

    • Clog on December 20, 2022

The sauce balances the gratin very well.

  • Cornbread dog

    • eclairea on March 01, 2025

Fun to bring to a party! Serving with ketchup and mustard is a MUST!

  • Paprika egg filo bake

    • eclairea on September 06, 2025

Oh my god this is so simple and so good! Looks impressive for a crowd, perfect for a brunch party, which is what I cooked this for. Would make again for sure.

  • Chocolate cookie pie

    • KCKB on November 20, 2022

Very tasty! Good for a large gathering, because this is sweet enough that a very small slice is all you need. Note that this is a recipe that should be made a day ahead so it can rest overnight in the fridge. I missed that detail and ended up popping it in the freezer for a few hours, which worked as well. NB: I have the US edition of the book, which is why the cover is different in the photo

  • Aromatic chicken biryani

    • vickid59 on March 11, 2023

Followed the recipe to a T and the basmati rice was underdone - steamed it for another 5 minutes & still didn't quite turn out. I make rice everyday so I don't think it's user error. We didn't particularly like the taste of the overall dish though it was easy to make.
