Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Aloo burgers

I had trouble making the mix dry enough for the patties. It tasty nice enough, but I'm not sure I would make these again.

  • Crispy leek biryani

This is a nice recipe, but the sequence of it makes it take much longer than it needs to. Id rather wash an extra couple of pots than spend an extra half hour in the kitchen! Do the soft leeks and rice in separate pots at the same time, then cook the crispy leeks while the rest is steaming. We felt it needed something to make it feel more like dinner and less like a side dish with an egg on top, so I also did some samosas with a dollop of yoghurt. I halved the recipe and it worked fine

  • Coconut bundt cake

For those with the book, there is no mention of fennel or cinnamon in the ingredients list, though they are mentioned in the recipe, so refer to the online recipe link for quantities. Also, one temperature is mentioned, but there is no reference to a fan oven temperature.
