Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Smoked salmon pasta

    • saladdays on January 02, 2026

Made this with leftover Christmas smoked salmon using fusilli pasta. Not easy to get the timing right, needed longer. It was OK, but I probably wouldn't cooki it again.

  • Balsamic pepper pasta

    • Wende on May 14, 2024

Once I tried the Sausage Papardella in this book, I was hooked on the one pan pasta idea. This recipe is also very good and could hardly be easier. The pasta dishes from this book are my new go-to for those days when I don't feel like making dinner, as well as those days when I just want to make something quick but also very good.

  • Mushroom carbonara

    • MariaPereira on October 27, 2022

      Easy, quick and tasty.

    • No1Alicat on April 14, 2026

So quick and easy. This will definitely go on my after work meal rotation!!

  • Sausage pappardelle

    • Wende on May 14, 2024

This is delicious! I was skeptical about the one-pan pasta idea, but tried it anyway. It's not only amazing how well it works, but my husband flipped over this dish. It's ridiculously easy and the results are far beyond the effort it takes to make this. I had to try a couple of markets before locating fresh pasta sheets, but I did find them.

    • FritB on September 15, 2025

It’s a wunderfull easy and very nice dish. I used homemade tomatosauce from the freezer.

    • liana_z5xlfq on February 06, 2026

If you double it don't double the water only put in 1.5 times

  • Squash & chickpea pasta

    • IvyManning on January 14, 2025

The flavor combo here just didn't work for us. It was too weird with the chickpeas. Most went in garbage.

  • Sumptuous squash soup

    • cook_fresco on September 17, 2022

Lovely though the red onion and rosemary means it’s not the colour in the photo. The soup goes perfectly with the Parmesan sourdough, it wouldn’t work so well on its own.

  • Shredded winter salad

    • hashi on April 14, 2023

My partner is cooking more and chose this one. It's an easy, tasty salad to put in rotation. We didn't have grapes, so only used apples -- it was definitely sweet enough without both. Instead of getting all fancy with the mustard and red wine vinegar, I'd make a vinaigrette and call it a day. I didn't tell him that, of course.

  • Juicy tahini chicken

    • liana_z5xlfq on April 08, 2026

Was a little bit dry and the instructions were not the most straightforward

  • Rosemary roast chicken

    • cook_fresco on September 17, 2022

Liked this a lot. Not sure it even needs the crème fraiche let alone the Stilton. Tastes indulgent. Great one for the colder months.

  • Honey roast chicken

    • RuthElleson on January 27, 2025

This is extremely tasty and I’ve made it loads. “Honey roast chicken” isn’t a great name for it as the orange, oregano and feta are more dominant flavours than honey.

  • Miso roast chicken

    • Wende on September 09, 2023

Once I started making this, I reached a point where I really wasn't sure if it was going to work out, but it does and it's delicious. Very easy and flavorful. I made it with chicken thighs only. I had a hard time finding 5oz sweet potatoes, so I quartered 10oz ones and they came out perfectly done along with the chicken. Rice and greens are suggested as sides. I went with spinach (which sopped up some of the delicious broth-y sauce) because I thought rice and sweet potatoes was a bit of starchy overkill for us. Will make again.

  • Harissa chicken dinner

    • hbakke on September 20, 2022

I mistakenly bought pearl couscous rather than the specified wholewheat couscous, but it turned out well anyway. We both liked this easy dinner. I would make this again.

  • Fennel & sardine shakshuka

    • oreganoca on August 13, 2025

We didn't care for this. Between the sardine oil and sardines on top, it had an overwhelming flavor of sardine that drowned out everything else in the dish.

  • Spaghetti frittata

    • Nancy402 on June 09, 2023

This turned out very nicely. Made a tasty easy Spring dinner. I found that not all the water was absorbed when the spaghetti was cooked, but it was easy to drain out the cooked vegetables and pasta before adding it to the eggs. Looking forward to experimenting a bit with this recipe using other vegetables etc.

  • Salmon & prawn pie in a pan

    • vicki_udvo9m on April 20, 2026

Couldn’t get filo pastry, switched to puff which was still great. Added some more flavour to cous cous with garlic granules and extra lemon zest and then added some thinly sliced red onion on top of the tomato layers.

  • Tuna & smoky pepper sauce

  • Smashin’ salami pork

    • lou_weez on April 11, 2023

A tasty and quick meal. Things I did differently - I didn't bother with the flaked almonds or sage as I didn't have any. I also did the lentil/tomato mixture in a separate pan so I could have everything ready at the same time.

  • Easy lamb hotpot

    • xtremeBrit on August 19, 2025

I just buy a roast lamb from Costco and cut it up into cubes.

  • Rolled carrot cake

    • hashi on May 03, 2026

This one is rich. I like that the cream cheese isn’t overly sweet, like cream cheese frosting you’d find in the US. Mixing it in the food processor makes for easy prep.

  • Rippled fro-yo

    • Nancy402 on June 09, 2023

This was interesting. The texture was like soft ice cream right out of the gate and it was delicious. My food processor had to work hard, but the result was quite impressive. Did not add the cocoa due to an allergy, but no one missed it.
