Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Roasted squash soup

    • emiliang on January 20, 2013

The spice combination is pitch perfect in this squash recipe. This is my new favorite fall/winter soup. The addition of the cranberry relish is a genius idea!

    • peaceoutdesign on November 24, 2025

I didn’t do the cranberry relish which probably would’ve made it amazing.

  • Chicken salad with avocados and mint-soy vinaigrette

    • kateiscoooking on April 18, 2017

Served on a bed of baby spinach, kale and beet greens with some radish sprouts tossed on for good measure. Mixed bag of mint based on what was up in the garden. Left the chiffonade lettuce out of the salad. Great use for rotisserie chicken.

  • Tagliatelle with pancetta, shrimp, and roasted tomatoes

    • bwhip on October 12, 2017

Wonderful. So simple, yet fabulous flavor. I used 12 oz of tagliatelle, and about the same of shrimp. Ratios seemed perfect. My wife and I both loved this.

  • Provençal salmon with tomato basil sauce

    • emiliang on August 18, 2013

This is a great summer recipe if you have some tomatoes from your garden or farmer's market on hand. The sauce is not cooked, so the ingredients need to be full of flavor. Prep takes 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes right before serving. Perfect for company if you don't want to spend your whole day in the kitchen.

  • Pan-seared pork chops with hoisin sauce and dried cranberries

    • DJM on April 23, 2012

Wonderful flavor from just a few ingredients. A favorite.

    • rpepper on March 27, 2017

Fabulous recipe. I substituted dried sour cherries for the dried cranberries and made only two pork chops but the full amount of sauce.

  • Ginger crème brûlée

    • peaceoutdesign on November 29, 2017

made without heating per Best Recipe Cookbook
