Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Seoulful Korean garlic chicken

    • annie_6swuo4 on May 15, 2026

Really easy recipe. Made for my partner who never raves about food but said it was fantastic. He had requested again tomorrow lol. Another fab recipe out of this book, which has become one of my top 5 cookery books.

  • Cumin-spiced lamb chops with roasted squash

  • Speedy cheesy ravioli bake

    • No1Alicat on April 27, 2026

Used M&S lasagne ravioli. Super quick for an after work/school dinner and went down well with us all. Bit too much liquid - will try halving the water next time

  • Creamy harissa sausage casserole

    • annie_6swuo4 on March 22, 2026

I really enjoyed this but the man of the house found it too spicy for his liking. Will make it again but use less harissa ??

  • Crispy cauliflower salad with jalapeño and soured cream dressing

    • Lepa on May 26, 2026

This is good and easy. We served this dish with flatbread and salad- and it made a nice, light meal. We served it with the suggested blue cheese and that was delicious- I highly recommend including it!

  • Lamb kofta with chips and dips

    • anna_66imxn on May 13, 2026

The kofte were good but I'd cook them separately there was so much liquid between the tomatoes and meat that the chips were basically boiled

  • Harissa salmon with crispy lentils and garlicky yoghurt

    • Lepa on March 05, 2026

This was very easy to make and good -but not great. Probably not a repeat for us.

  • Crispy firecracker tofu

    • annie_6swuo4 on April 15, 2026

Loved this. Was quick, easy and tasted great

    • Lepa on April 18, 2026

This didn't work out for us but it could have been my fault. I doubled the recipe (to feed a family of four) so the vegetables may have been crowded on the pan -plus my oven is acting up. Overall the taste was okay but the texture was mushy with bits of charred onion. Not sure if I will try again. . .

  • Moroccan-style creamy coconut lentil soup

    • sarahj22 on May 06, 2026

Yum. This was a great find - what a revelation that you can make a delicious soup with zero chopping and no stock. I adapted the instructions for my air fryer and cooked on 'bake' which didn't quite work - the foil wouldn't stay in place so the lentils remained uncooked after 35 mins. I then switched to 'sear/saute' and cooked covered on medium for 15 mins, so in future I would just saute from the start. I only added the salt at the end so I could serve it to my four-year-old and eleven-month-old - they both ate it! I omitted the coriander (as I didn't have any) but added the specified crispy chilli oil and lemon juice (from a bottle) for the adult servings. Those last two ingredients really lifted everything so I would deem them essential. The guest I made this for asked for the recipe.

  • Coconut, coriander and lime cod

  • Creamy Thai peanut chicken curry

    • anna_66imxn on March 22, 2026

Really tasty but the peanut butter ended up in clumps which was an odd texture

    • Lepa on March 25, 2026

This was good but not great. I didn't have the clumping peanut butter issue (I used a gravy whisk for the liquid part). The chicken was a bit overdone/rubbery after 20 minutes.

  • The greatest chicken shawarma salad

    • sarahj22 on April 30, 2026

Really nice! I freestyled some of it - I followed the marinade as written but substituted mixed crispy salad for the romaine and cornichons for the jalapenos. I also skipped the sour cream and garlic dip in favour of a feta-yogurt-garlic-mayo dip I had leftover from a Georgina Hayden recipe. I am very particular about shawarma as my favourite (Nagi from Recipe Tin Eats) is so hard to beat but this one comes very close. This is my first recipe from this book and it's made me excited to try many others.

    • anna_66imxn on May 28, 2026

The seasoning for this wasn't quite right for my taste there are better shawarma recipes in other books..

  • Feta-licious chicken meatballs

    • matt_incyjh on March 30, 2026

The meatballs took 10 mins longer than the recipe suggested

  • Padrón pepper and chorizo chicken bake

    • sarahj22 on May 30, 2026

This was okay but we found the flavours fairly muted for a dish that contains such punchy ingredients. I omitted the parsley and cooked it in an air fryer without the baking paper, so that probably affected the final result. Weirdly I preferred this served cold for lunch with salad - it felt more flavourful that way. The four-year-old ate this with no problem.

  • Tandoori roast chicken rice

    • sarahj22 on May 06, 2026

Easy and delicious. I've enjoyed plenty of other whole chickens spiced with Indian flavours (Molly Baz, Mob One) but this is probably my favourite. I used the air fryer so cooked the chicken breast side down, and added the rice to cook beneath/alongside the chicken. Usually I like a big spoonful of yogurt alongside a roast chicken plus carbs but the rice was so beautifully buttery it didn't need it. We didn't bother with the lime pickle but the squeeze of lemon at the end is essential. Served with a green salad. The four-year-old loved the chicken and skin but not the rice.

  • Speedy chicken korma

    • sarahj22 on May 17, 2026

Tasty and easy but unremarkable, but I'm sure that was due to my changes rather than any fault of the recipe. (I haven't rated it for that reason.) I omitted the chilli powder and fresh coriander and used tahini instead of cashew butter, plus minced ginger and garlic instead of fresh. It made a nice, cosy mild curry but the reason I chose it was as a child friendly curry that my four-year-old would like. She wasn't a fan and my husband and I usually go for spicier curries. The one-year-old loved this!

  • Pork tenderloin with creamy Diane sauce

    • annie_6swuo4 on April 12, 2026

My partner loved this. He would certainly have it again. Would be great to do for guests at some point.

  • Meltingly tender beef brisket ragu

    • annie_6swuo4 on April 15, 2026

      Excellent recipe. Everyone loved this.

  • Sausage cassoulet with Parmesan crumble

    • anna_66imxn on May 13, 2026

Dried out significantly maybe reduce the cooking time, but tasted good

  • Low and slow harissa lamb

  • Summery orzo with creamy burrata

    • cookingalice on May 05, 2026

It's also very tasty without artichokes. I used two zucchini instead.

  • Caramelized onion pasta bake

    • annie_6swuo4 on April 15, 2026

This made a nice change from mac n cheese. Will definitely make again. Good comfort food on a cold rainy evening.

  • Loaded sweet potato nachos

    • annie_6swuo4 on March 22, 2026

This is going to become a firm favourite. Was full of flavour and quick to make!! Winner!
