Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Mulligatawny soup

    • Melanie on March 22, 2020

Easy to make with lots of standby ingredients that I have access to at the moment. Skipped the chicken and it was still filling enough. I loved the sweet tangy flavour that the apple added to the dish.

  • Garlic prawns & broccoli

    • SACarlson on September 14, 2016

This was a good, quick weeknight recipe. No culinary fireworks, but it tasted good and was on the table quickly.

  • Korean zucchini pancakes (Hobak buchimgae)

    • KarinaFrancis on June 01, 2020

My pancakes came out a lot thicker than the picture, but they were very tasty. Next time I might shred the zucchini instead and up the ratio of potato flour for a crisper finish. Definitely a good back pocket recipe

  • Tom yum fried rice

    • KarinaFrancis on April 17, 2016

This recipe was just ok, not as good as it sounded, although it could just be the paste I used. Probably won't try it again

  • Cabbage dashi

  • Prawn & grapefruit salad

    • Ladyredspecs on December 05, 2015

My advice is layer the undressed greens, prawns and grapefruit on the plate then drizzle dressing over at the table. The greens wilted very quickly and the dressing discoloured the prawns. Delicious flavours though

  • Pork & eggplant

    • Ladyredspecs on December 05, 2015

Needs more seasonings. We like this better made with beef, and with 5spice added

  • Butter chicken (Murgh makhani)

    • RallyJulie on July 19, 2019

This is my go-to recipe for butter chicken. It's very delicious. I use commercial tandoori paste to make the Tandoori Chicken for this recipe.

  • Tandoori chicken

    • RallyJulie on July 19, 2019

I use this recipe as a base for the butter chicken recipe and use a commercial tandoori paste to save time.

  • Grilled fish with turmeric yoghurt

    • lou_weez on September 18, 2017

This was really easy and loved by kids and adults alike. The Garlic and Ginger Spinach was especially delicious. The recipe calls for 150g of baby spinach, I used a 280g bag and it worked out brilliantly.

  • Taco rice gratin

    • lou_weez on March 10, 2017

This was a great, tasty family meal. Next time I would add a can of beans. Leftovers were very happily eaten by the children for lunch the next day too. A rice cooker makes this dish a very simple meal to put together.

  • Tuna, corn & avocado salad

    • lou_weez on January 06, 2022

Easy, yummy salad that was great for lunch.
