Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Sesame and chilli noodles

    • treay on August 14, 2025

This is a very healthy and delicious recipe. I didn't make the sesame chilli oil, used jarred black bean and chili oil instead, and therefore the recipe was super fast to make. My sauce didn't have the dark colour as per recipe photo, but was really tasty. Will make it again for sure.

  • Tandoori tacos

    • lou_weez on January 01, 2024

Great tasting taco! My only issue was the quantity of chicken thigh fillets which I doubled so as to feed 4 adults.

  • Chipotle chicken tacos

    • Happykikkers on January 08, 2025

Easy weeknight dish. Next time I’ll marinate the chicken longer.

  • Curried fried rice

    • treay on July 01, 2025

I had some leftover rice so decided to make some fried rice for dinner. I had all the ingredients in the fridge and pantry to make this one and it was full of flavour and delicious. Also it didn't take me a long time to have all the ingredients prepared. I used some homemade Thai curry mix - it doesn't say what type of curry to use- and it was quite spicy. I also added a few prawns. We really liked it, but we both said it was probably a bit too dry.

  • Roast chicken Marylands with pumpkin and sage

    • treay on March 08, 2026

Another delicious and easy to prepare recipe from Adam. It takes two hours to cook in the oven, but the preparation time is about 20 minutes. The brown butter and sage added to the chicken before serving gave it a lovely flavour. I had a zucchini that needed to be eaten and added it to the chicken. I added some chilli broccoli and it was a quick and tasty way to have some greens as a side dish.

  • Exceptionally good roast potatoes

    • treay on July 02, 2025

The potatoes turned out very nicely and crunchy on the sides. I followed the recipe and added a tsp of bicarb on the water used to pre-boil them. They were lovely and really enjoyed them.

    • vaneater on January 05, 2026

A first for me boiling with bicarbonate soda in the water. These potatoes were delicious and crispy. I chose the option to just roast them with salt, pepper and olive oil. Oh yeah. Yum

  • Salmagundi

    • treay on June 15, 2025

We love Salmagundi, it is such a versatile recipe... It's perfect to use up any ingredient you have in the fridge. This recipe from Adam's cookbook has quite a few cooked vegetables and it was delicious with the herbed vinaigrette suggested. I added some extra ingredients and changed a couple that I didn't have at hand. A truly delicious meal.

  • Roast beef with rich Port gravy

    • vaneater on January 05, 2026

I made this with a dry aged rib eye on the bone - 2 ribs worth about 1400g. It was an elite new year eves dinner with the potatos and Yorkshire pudding from the same book. I took the carrots out from the pan to continue roast while the meat rested to use as a side rather than mush it into the gravy. They were so good. Also I love this gravy. It was great with sausages the day after. And the leftover meat made very tasty sandwiches too!

  • Butter-roasted salmon with Yorkshire puddings

    • gjnmc on April 03, 2026

omited thickened cream- just used sour cream plus horseradish

  • Yorkshire puddings

    • vaneater on January 05, 2026

I need to perfect the cook on this. Mine stuck a bit, but have since been told they probably need more time. Still they tasted great!

  • Beef, broccoli stem, garlic, chilli and oyster sauce [stir-fry]

    • jhallen on September 23, 2025

This was good - nothing particularly inventive, but a good combination.
