Really suffers from not having weight measurements.

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Funfetti crumb cake

    • elisa_m95b99 on February 22, 2026

This was really yummy ! I was happy that it didn’t turn out too sweet. I love Broma bakery but I have to say the one downside to the book is the recipes don’t include weight measurements

    • sophie_cvnagw on May 17, 2026

Definitely love the concept. Just misses a hint of acidity to cut through the sweetness in my opinion. I am going to add some lime zest next time.

  • Small-batch blueberry muffins

    • Astrid5555 on August 29, 2025

Used this recipe because I had a leftover egg white that needed using up. I am not a fan of books that use cup measurements but they worked out ok and were happily eaten by my sons.

  • Cosmic cookies

    • aberne on February 09, 2025

Wow. Super easy to pull together and the cookies, which tasted like super nice chewy, fudgy brownies could be enjoyed without the topping if you really want a quick treat. I'm thinking of playing with the flavor of the topping to go for a more grown up flavor... And cut the richness a bit. But terrific as is.

    • megbgraham on March 19, 2025

Good recipe! We liked them and will make them again!

    • racheljmorgan on May 17, 2026

Made for MIL's church potluck. Subbed sprinkles. These were really dark and rich. With the ganache, I felt the chocolate intensity was WAY too much and disliked the cookies after 1 bite despite being a chocolate lover. Maybe the first trimester is affecting my tastebuds, though. Much better next day, and all disappeared from the dessert table.

  • Vanilla bean-blackberry scones

    • bwhip on October 27, 2024

These were really good, tender and delicious. I used big, beautiful blueberries in mine. Three vanilla beans! I reduced the sugar by about half because I didn’t want them to be overly sweet, especially since they also get a glaze.

  • Zebra bundt cake

    • Kinhawaii on October 14, 2025

It was good but the vanilla part of mine came out a bit dry. When I checked it the knife came out with very wet dough & a few minutes later it came out clean. I didn’t think overcooked it but I wonder if letting it cool completely before removing it from the pan did it or I divided the dough unevenly. I think I would use the weights she gives in her chart & weigh the dough halves if I make it again. I was tired & didn’t pipe the dough but spooned it in.

  • Dark chocolate banana bread

    • bwhip on November 08, 2024

So good! Definitely one of the best banana bread recipes I've tried, particularly for those of us that love deep, dark chocolate. Delicious warm out of the oven, and still great the next day. I didn't have a fourth banana to put on top, and I didn't add chocolate chips to the top, as it seemed like it already had plenty. For me the overall result was just perfect.

    • lela_bugsms on February 08, 2026

Delicious. Very chocolate-y and very moist from the bananas.

    • Allissagoodrich on April 27, 2026

Delicious, but plan to bake longer than recommended.

    • tricia_0t3spw on May 30, 2026

      So good. Very chocolatey.

  • Chewy peanut butter-chocolate chip cookies

    • stephanie_frj4st on March 28, 2026

Not as peanut-buttery as I was expecting but chewy and delicious

    • meagan_x2lsb8 on April 16, 2026

      Best cookies ever omg

  • Jam jam bars

    • cardan on April 30, 2026

So delicious and so easy. I used bonne maman four fruits spread and am excited to experiment with different flavors.

    • chris_irrd3a on May 31, 2026

Try homemade cranberry sauce! The sweet and the tart is to die for!!

  • Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

    • Anniefro21 on February 06, 2025

I was a fan of these crispy edged yet gooey center oatmeal cookies. I thought the cookies had good flavor and liked the addition of the oatmeal. My child did not notice the addition of the oatmeal until verbally told. So a great thing if you are trying to get some extra fiber in your kid! Easy to make with a pared down ingredient list.

    • bwhip on February 01, 2026

These were really great. Crispy edges, soft centers, great flavor. I tweaked the recipe a bit by browning the butter, rather than just melting it. I also added some toasted walnuts. Could be my new favorite oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe.

  • Unbirthday cake cookies

    • meagan_x2lsb8 on March 29, 2026

Solid cookie recipe. Made them Valentine’s ish!

    • Allissagoodrich on April 27, 2026

      Easy and loved them!

    • tricia_0t3spw on May 09, 2026

Very good. I wish I could get them to look they the photo in cookbook though.

    • tamara_9khuic on June 02, 2026

Such a good cookie! Made exactly as described. Daughter questioned why I didn’t automatically double it as we lost a few cookie dough balls to just enjoying raw. Making it again maybe even another batch today!

  • Nutella-swirled chocolate chip blondies

    • Kinhawaii on October 27, 2024

Delicious- I thought these would be too sweet but I will definitely make these again. I may use slightly less nutella since it almost became like a frosting- which could be a good thing if that’s what you want. I like that they aren’t too thin & are moist.

    • aberne on March 20, 2025

Really nice, but I think I'd cut the chocolate chips in half, it almost became too chocolate-y and you miss a bit of the butterscotch notes in the blondie. Otherwise, solid recipe.

  • Crackle-top brownies

    • evelyn_xzt59j on January 18, 2026

Baked for 35 minutes and still came out soupy.

    • Allissagoodrich on April 27, 2026

I baked for 35 minutes - they were still really gooey when I pulled them but set perfectly! Don’t be afraid to let them rest and firm up.

  • Dark chocolate, date, and oatmeal bars

    • lela_bugsms on April 05, 2026

Tasted like a delicious oatmeal, chocolate chip cookie, but in bar form. However, the taste of the dates was completely lost in / covered up by the chocolate. I never say this, but it felt like too much chocolate. It overwhelmed everything else.

  • Lemon-olive oil cake

    • Allissagoodrich on April 27, 2026

I found the cake sinks slightly in the middle - I’ve made it several times, and can’t figure out what the problem is. However, I’ve had no structural issues, the recipe is easy and the flavor is incredible. It still earns 5 stars for me!

  • The best chocolate chip cookies in the world

    • bwhip on October 30, 2024

The best in the world? Hmmm, maybe! Not sure I’ve had better. These are really good. With browned butter, a high proportion of brown sugar, an extra egg yolk and big chocolate chunks (I used Ghirardelli 70%), they’re quite awesome! And some flakes of salt on top to add just a bit more magic. Definitely some of the best I’ve ever had.

    • cookingbychapter on January 01, 2025

This is a really good cookie, maybe better if I had chilled it longer than 2 hours. They turned out thinner than I was expecting but had great flavour. I will say, not the best I have ever had, but a recipe sure to be repeated and one that will make everyone happy you share them with

    • d.giginyc on December 31, 2025

They’re pretty good but I find it to be inconsistent. They come out different every time I make them and they’re always thick. I don’t mind the thickness since I prefer it.

    • bell_pjtwzh on January 21, 2026

SOOO delicious. For me, they're the perfect amount of sweetness, super chocolatey, and you can taste that bit of salt in the dough. The recipe does call for a lot of chocolate, so adjust to your liking!

    • evelyn_xzt59j on January 29, 2026

I’ve made a few modifications to this recipe over the years that lead to consistent results and extra depth of flavor: - DURING STEP 1: When browning your butter, add 3 Tbsp powdered milk to the butter once it’s melted and proceed with browning until they reach a deep mahogany. These additional milk solids will add and extra depth of toastiness to your dough. - BEFORE STEP 2: To account for the extra dry ingredients and lost moisture from browning the butter, add 1 Tbsp heavy cream to the bowl with your browned butter and milk powder and whisk it in. Place your bowl in the fridge for 30+ minutes to chill until solidified, yet softened. The goal is to bring it back to a softened butter rather than melted. - STEP 2: Once browned butter is at a softened consistency, add sugars and cream together for 3 minutes. Creaming your butter will prevent the spreading and greasy texture that melted butter can lend to a cookie recipe. Add eggs, vanilla, and salt and cream until combined, 1 minute.

    • stephanie_frj4st on March 28, 2026

We agreed these were the best! Had to put them in a little longer they were pretty undercooked but gooey and delicious.

    • meagan_x2lsb8 on March 29, 2026

May be my new go-to ccc recipe … & my friends, family, etc. love them :)

    • cardan on May 10, 2026

These are certainly some of the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve made. Super chocolately, soft texture, and the salt really zhuzhes up. They were a bit thin for me, but I think leaving them in the fridge longer than the minimum 1 hour could help.

    • Allissagoodrich on June 09, 2026

      Incredible. Would slightly underbake.

  • Matilda's chocolate cake

    • evelyn_xzt59j on January 29, 2026

Cake layers caved in while baking, but nothing a little extra icing couldn’t cover. Incredible depth of flavor and moist, plush crumb!

  • Yellow sheet cake with chocolate frosting

    • meagan_x2lsb8 on April 19, 2026

Lovely simple cake! Made for my sister’s birthday ??

  • Sugar cookie bars

    • karaibeer on January 08, 2025

If you like Crumbl-levels of sweet, you will love this bar. If I make again, will reduce sugar. (This has kind of been my experience with Sweet Tooth recipes I've tried so far; though I thought my own sweet tooth could hang, I might be a novice!)

    • racheljmorgan on February 12, 2026

      Just an ok from me

  • Oatmeal cream cookies

    • racheljmorgan on February 27, 2026

So, separately both the cookies and the cream are very Little Debbie. But together, it seems like too much cookie to cream per bite. Mine didn't spread as much as the book photo. They're also about half the size of the original LD cream pies, and thicker. Next time I'd just frost tops instead of sandwiching. The cream filling is intensely vanilla. The cookies are soft, chewy, delicious, heavy on the brown sugar.

  • Lunch lady brownies

    • Knead2Quilt on October 25, 2024

I have made Lunch Lady Brownies several times. So easy to make, no mixer needed. They are amazing. I love them cold from the fridge.

    • kshell on March 27, 2025

Yes, these were easy. They were quite sweet with the frosting but to be expected. Probably won't make again but I'm always happy to try a new brownie recipe.

  • Espresso martini cake

    • patrick_ulzrij on March 03, 2026

Kaitlyn made for her birthday. Delicious

  • Coffee cake cookies

    • evelyn_xzt59j on February 01, 2026

The recipe may seem long, but it is fairly simple and will have cookies out of the oven in 45 minutes from start to finish. Many who tried these stated the were “the best cookies they’d ever tasted”!

    • cardan on June 14, 2026

Even my non-cinnamon loving husband loved these.

  • Banoffee cake

    • stevensolarz on December 28, 2025

The flavour of this is nice, very banana-bready texture, but so so so sweet, like disgustingly sweet. Not a cake you can have more than a thin slice of.

  • Strawberry cheesecake muffins

    • megbgraham on March 19, 2025

Made these for my husbands work, they were a huge hit. I wish mine turned out as pretty as the cookbook photo but they were still very tasty!

  • White chocolate brownies

    • evelyn_xzt59j on April 04, 2026

Astoundingly easy one bowl recipe. Baked for 30 minutes- edges and top were perfectly set, but middle brownies were slightly gooey and underdone despite a clean toothpick test. Would recommend a few extra minutes bake time!

    • cardan on May 03, 2026

This is a very easy one bowl recipe, which was nice. I’m not a huge white chocolate fan, so this didn’t wow me. My husband is though, and even he didn’t love these till they sat in the fridge awhile. Also, they do need the confectioner sugar on top I think.

  • Blueberry pie cookies

    • tricia_0t3spw on May 20, 2026

These are fun to make. They turned out great. I would never think to have blueberries in a cookie format.

  • Strawberry shortcake cake

    • megbgraham on March 19, 2025

EXCELLENT. Loved this recipe! I love strawberry shortcakes and wasn’t sure how this would compare but I thought it was lovely. Guests loved it!

    • Parker_64 on April 24, 2026

Easy and delicious recipe. Next time I'll slice the cake into two layers and put whipped cream and strawberries between them.

    • Allissagoodrich on April 27, 2026

LOVED it. So easy - I let guests top their slice with the cream and strawberries individually in order to save the leftovers.

    • cardan on May 07, 2026

This one was a crowd pleaser. Bonus that it was easy to make.

    • kfreytag on June 09, 2026

So easy and everyone loves it! Such a crowd pleaser.

  • Cherry Danish cake

    • Kinhawaii on December 02, 2024

This was nice & easy. I made half a recipe in an 8 inch square & just did a regular drizzle without the cream cheese because I didn’t want to break out a bar. I think with all the sour cream in the cake it didn’t make that much difference.

  • Sunday waffles

    • racheljmorgan on March 15, 2026

Nice, fluffy and soft, on the sweet side.

  • London fog loaf

    • d.giginyc on December 31, 2025

It was okay. I’ll try it again at some point because it did come out underbaked. I’d increase bake time for sure. It’s a pretty loaf though.

  • Blueberry pancakes

    • Allissagoodrich on April 27, 2026

Fantastic. No notes, would make this a go-to pancake recipe.

  • Birthday cake pancakes

    • racheljmorgan on April 20, 2026

Not particularly sweet or much in the way of birthday cake flavor, just a standard pancake. Sprinkles not very visible, but if you're cutting them up for a child there's some color.

  • Apple rose tart

    • vzeh93 on February 16, 2026

This turned out great but instructions were a bit off. I only used about five apples. Maybe I sliced them too thin? Also it says to cook apples for two minutes and then cool to touch. Well after two minutes, it wasn’t even warm. Basically I had to cook on high and once it heated up, left it on for a few minutes until I could bend the apple without breaking. Also dry the apples well because they will release water and make the filling wet and hard to bake through. Not sure how to fix that because mine came out a little gooey and wet but people seemed to still like it.

  • Chocolate tiramisu

    • cookbookdestinations on January 27, 2025

This is my current go to for tiramisu; very easy and doesn't require a lot of ingredients. I skipped the chocolate for the more classic tiramisu and also omitted the liqueur since I don't consume alcohol. It's very good and comes together very quickly. I lowered the sugar even further since my sweet tooth isn't as strong-- about a heavy 1/2 cup total (1/4 cup in each egg mixture) and found that it still worked. I increased the vanilla slightly, as per instruction, when omitting the rum. This is perfect and I haven't found a tiramisu that I've liked better or is as easy.

  • Dulce de leche cheesecake brownies

    • mary_xo214q on February 19, 2026

Very fudgy brownie. The cheesecake and dulce de leche flavors didn’t come through much but it was still delicious and I’d make it again.

  • Peppermint chocolate mousse

    • kshell on March 27, 2025

Made without peppermint. This is delicious but it is not chocolate mousse. Too dense. The only thing that may be a factor is my normal blender. I don't know when it became common to call for a "high-speed" blender. I see it quite often in more recent recipes. Maybe that would have made a difference. Maybe not.

  • Oatmeal fudge bars

    • Lisathebaker on February 23, 2025

This is an excellent and easy bar cookie and I will surely make this cookie again. Followed the recipe as written.

  • Spiced pumpkin snickerdoodles

    • bwhip on October 25, 2024

Delicious and really addictive! I noticed some differences between the recipe on the author's website vs. the book, but I used the book recipe. I did brown the butter rather than just melting it, because brown butter always seems to make recipes better (and she called for that on the website). Next time I might add an egg yolk per the web version, just to see how it changes the texture.

    • racheljmorgan on January 29, 2026

These were so simple to make and incredibly delicious. I've pulled them fully baked from the freezer and had a guest say wow on first bite of a thawed cookie.

  • Maple-glazed apple blondies

    • aberne on March 21, 2025

This was so so sweet. The idea is great, but the sweetness overwhelmed any flavor of apple.

    • Allissagoodrich on April 27, 2026

Would make them without the apple, too. The batter is incredible - could eat it with a spoon.

  • Cranberry pie bars

    • Pandan on May 04, 2026

I liked these, reduced sugar a bit because I find most of her recipes a bit too sweet

  • Hot chocolate cookies

    • lilyswilson on January 04, 2026

Incredible! The marshmallow did burn quite quickly even under an electric broiler. 30 seconds more and they would have been on fire. Luckily we were able to just pick the burned marshmallows off and try again, this time sitting right in front of the oven watching them toast for about 45 seconds.

  • Cinnamon swirl-banana bread mug cake

    • racheljmorgan on January 09, 2026

So apparently a standard size mug here means something more than 12oz! I lost maybe a 1/3 of the batter and created a huge mess in the microwave in my regular 12oz mug. It also took an extra 60 sec to cook. Overall, just ok. Very, very sweet, with the same texture as most mug cakes (a little pudding-esque). Toddler and I struggled to finish eating it together for breakfast....it's very sweet. I'd only want half.

  • Chocolate cupcakes for two

    • racheljmorgan on May 31, 2026

      Fluffy, high-domed. Buttercream very soft.

  • Just two snickerdoodles

    • racheljmorgan on May 01, 2026

Not particularly compelling, but I've never been a snickerdoodle lover. This is the 3rd recipe from this book I've noticed my cookies are not spreading as much as the photos (Fennel's and everyone else's).

  • Single-serve double chocolate chip cookies

    • racheljmorgan on April 11, 2026

Wow, I'm not usually satisfied with just one cookie but this recipe for 2 really is 2 servings. For a 2.5inch cookie it packs a rich chocolate flavor and feels heavy. Used mixed chips as a sub. Very soft, verging on under baked, but quite nice when warm.

    • mary_xo214q on March 30, 2026

Made the full size recipe version and loved it. Swapped 2/3 of the dark chocolate for white chocolate, which turned out great, but I think the original recipe would be good too. Great cookie consistency — chewy with crisp edges

  • Molten lava cakes for two

    • cookingbychapter on February 10, 2026

This will solve any chocolate craving. Saved me from a dessert emergency!

    • njpoirier on January 05, 2025

Delicious and came together quickly! Followed the baking time to a t and it made a perfectly molten center.

  • Single lady apple crisp

    • megbgraham on June 28, 2025

I love this recipe! Love it with vanilla ice cream on top. I’ve made it many times. I usually add more apple, and double the topping and make it into 2 ramekins because either my husband eats one or I save one for the next day. Super easy, I always have the ingredients on hand, and it hits the spot for a sweets craving!

  • Brûléed pumpkin pie

    • evakim on October 03, 2025

This turned out great! I doubled the spices and topped it with a maple-infused whipped cream.
