In "3 Ways With", author Ross Dobson presents 300 recipes with three ways of using 100 basic, readily available ingredients that can be found in the average household fridge, freezer or pantry. Tinned tomatoes, curry paste, anchovies, chocolate...even stale bread: all these base ingredients form the framework for delicious meals that are simple to prepare and cook. Many of the recipes have a short cooking time and require only whizzing, chopping, tossing, frying or boiling (cold tossed noodle salad; zesty lime pickle rice). And those with longer cooking times need next to no preparation: slow cooked lamb shanks and lentils takes 10 minutes to prepare and is made from a handful of ingredients that are thrown into a pot and left to simmer for 2 hours while the cook gets on with their busy life.
