Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Pea pancakes with crisp pancetta and sweet chilli sauce

    • treay on November 14, 2024

A lovely recipe to serve as an entree.

  • Crumbed whiting with citrus salad

    • treay on November 14, 2024

Lovely recipe. The salad was very good but without the olives, I didn't think they worked with this salad.

  • Tunisian spiced chicken with hummus and pomegranate

    • Melanie on July 27, 2016

Great mid week dinner - chicken can be marinated in advance and all comes together quickly. I skipped the pomegranate and instead made a side salad from chopped cherry tomatoes, cucumber, watercress and the dressing. Perfect match.

  • Char siu duck legs with Asian slaw

    • treay on November 26, 2024

This is a very easy to make recipe, and the duck is just delicious. The slaw works extremely well, the contrast between the sweetness of the duck and the little acidity from the salad dressing work wonders. It is important to start this recipe the previous day, so that the duck can marinate enough time to absorb the flavours. Loved it!

  • Moorish beef skewers with cauliflower couscous

    • Melanie on July 19, 2016

We really enjoyed this. Started marinating the beef one night ahead. Substituted 1/2 cider vinegar, 1/2 water and a spoon of sugar for the sherry.

  • Greek lamb with orzo

    • sarahj22 on March 30, 2021

It feels a bit cheeky to review this when I omitted one of the central ingredients - the lamb mince - but this was a delicious dinner. The tomato sauce is rich and flavourful from the beef stock and spices, then the Greek flavours of lemon, olive and feta really brighten and lift the whole dish. I served with salad leaves and extra lemon wedges. A definite repeat.

    • saarwouters on November 22, 2017

Very nice dinner. The spices and herbs make it taste really Greek. Whole family loved it.

  • Asparagus with crumbed haloumi

    • debkellie on March 12, 2017

Light, summery salad. Tad on the bland side..

  • Lemon tiramasu

    • treay on November 15, 2024

This dessert was very nice, not too sweet. It is quite easy to make if you use bought lemon curd and sponge cake, but I made everything from scratch, so it took me a while.
