Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Hawaiian macaroni salad

    • hbakke on August 26, 2019

Tasty salad. I've made this a few times and everyone seems to like it.

  • Barbecue macaroni salad

    • hbakke on July 13, 2020

I didn't love this, but everyone else did. I don't think I loved the barbecue sauce addition. It is a simple pasta salad made with mostly pantry ingredients.

  • Delmonico potatoes

    • Apepin on April 18, 2022

I made this as a side dish for Easter. It was creamy and decadant in a good way. The shredded potato topping was more interesting than the roasted crumbs I've used in other recipes. I did wish there was a little more of it.

Publishers Text

Create foolproof classic homestyle favorites for any and all occasions.

The editors of Cook’s Country magazine scoured the country to discover the best of the take-it-with-you recipes that make Potluck dinners an American tradition. We’ve compiled 139 of the very best of them, from old standbys like Deviled Eggs, Eggplant Parmesan and Chicken, Broccoli, and Ziti Casserole to crowd-pleasers like Macaroni and Cheese, Green Bean Casserole, and Country Captain Chicken to desserts like Mississippi Mud Brownies and St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake.

Keep these recipes close to home- and serve one for dinner tonight! These dishes are perfect for everything from weeknight meals with the family to casual parties at the office. And because they have been tested by our trusted test kitchen, you know that they are guaranteed to work every time you make them.

Whether you're looking for an easy-to-prepare main dish for a holiday buffet, like Old-Fashioned Cider-Baked Ham (scoring the ham helps the sweet glaze stick to the meat), a crowd-pleasing starter for game-day like Fully Loaded Strombolis, which rely on store-bought pizza dough to make it extra fast, or an easy-to-serve dessert like Texas Sheet Cake (spreading the frosting while the cake is warm guarantees the cake stays fudgy and moist, BEST POTLUCK RECIPES has you covered.

At Home or on the Road, We Foolproof America's Favorite Family Favorites

  • Ultimate Seven-Layer Dip--With tired flavors and gloppy dairy, party dips never live up to their names—until now. We spice up this starter with bold Tex-Mex flavors and a variety of textures.
  • Best-Ever Baked Ziti--We took this church-supper favorite from mundane to marvelous with a velvety tomato sauce and a triple-cheese punch. Everyone will ask for the recipe.
  • Apple Slab Pie--For more crispy, buttery crust and tender, juicy apples, we moved all-American apple pie onto a baking sheet—and now there’s enough for a crowd.
