Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Chocolate sour cream Bundt cake

An incredibly moist and delicious chocolate Bundt cake that I've been baking for years. I love the velvety texture and deep chocolate flavor. I'm at high altitude and the only change I make is reduce the baking soda to 7/8 tsp.

  • Oatmeal fudge bars

Very good! I subbed in old fashioned oats for the quick cooking oats, which the recipe says is fine. However, if I were to make these again though, I’d blitz the old fashioned oats in a food processor to make them a bit smaller, or I’d add more. Also the topping/base was a tad too sugary for me and sort of greasy. Would look into adjusting to more of a streusel/shortbread texture. Maybe with more flour and oats to soak up the butter and cut sweetness.
