Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Carpaccio of pineapple with mint

    • Pamsy on January 18, 2023

I wouldn't have thought of pineapple and mint with lime as a combination but this was so refreshing and easy. Great way to finish a meal.

  • Cauliflower and lemon soup

    • Pamsy on February 08, 2024

Made in soup maker, so lovely smooth creamy soup. Cauliflower flavour didn't come through but the lemon, cheese and chilli did. I added a large potato as I felt a thickener was needed. Used cream cheese instead of mascarpone. Good lunch alongside a bacon sandwich. Will repeat.

Publishers Text

A cookery book like no other, "The Trifle Bowl" is a brand new collection of Lindsey Bareham's delicious recipes organized by the well-loved and well-used pots, pans, gadgets and utensils she uses to cook them. Roast Tomato Risotto with Saffron and Honey in a saute pan, Grilled Aubergine with Feta and Parsley under an oven grill, Apple Charlotte with Apricot Sauce in a charlotte mould...A unique approach to ordering recipes that also looks at the objects themselves - their history, design evolution and why they're good at what they do - it's not just a book to cook from, Lindsey's fine writing makes it a pleasure to read from too.
