Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Janni Kyritsi's wild weed pie

    • pennyvr on August 16, 2015

Made this using silverbeet from the shops and only a handful of greens from my garden. It should be great made with slightly old greens from the garden, will try it when I have some.

  • Poached quince

    • Melanie on May 17, 2015

Lovely flavour, I can never get enough of quinces at this time of the year (I think the magic of their changing colour is quite apt for autumn). This is a very simple preparation that can either be eaten simply as poached fruit or used in other recipes. The leftover poaching syrup also makes for great cordial.

  • Pesto muffins

    • sailor on June 24, 2013

these are moist and delicious kids love them. Great way to get them to eat beetroot which I find they don't normally like.

  • Beetroot and chocolate muffins

    • sailor on June 24, 2013

These are moist and delicious and a great way to get kids to eat beetroot.

  • Italian almond and carrot cake

    • Kate123 on January 23, 2012

Best carrot cake recipe ever. Note make sure egg whites are at room temperature and beater and bowl are super clean. I usually beat the egg whites first, set aside, then go ahead and beat egg yolks and sugar.

  • Four ways with lightly steamed cauliflower and browned breadcrumbs

    • pennyvr on August 16, 2015

The caper & parmesan variation is delicious

  • Baghdad eggs on simple flatbread

    • JFM on January 29, 2014

One of the best egg recipes I've had! So fresh and light and tasty! We had it with last night's leftover bubbly and fresh orange juice - not very authentic, but very nice!

  • Braised fennel gratin

    • spicebite on August 15, 2012

Gorgeous dish, and great way to make use of end of season fennel. I cooked the fennel for a bit longer than in the recipe

  • Roasted garlic

    • Melanie on March 30, 2014

The instructions make for perfect roast garlic.

  • Loretta's Shrewsbury Easter biscuits

    • Jaybak on June 08, 2013

      Look in index under 'Oranges'

  • Raspberry muffins

    • Curly73 on March 19, 2016

p555 20g butter 220 self raising flour 1/2 cup caster sugar 3/4 cup buttermilk 1 egg 3/4 cup vegetable oil 100g raspberries
