      I made this recipe using figs from a friend's tree. When they were dried I half dipped them in chocolate. Other variations: reduce the drained syrup and return the dried figs to it with a splash of something alcoholic and/or melted chocolate and then store. Push a toasted almond or some walnut paste into the centre of the fig before chocolate dipping.
