  • Key lime cheesecake bars

    • Aubr3yy on February 22, 2026

I made these cheesecake bars for a party this weekend and it was a huge hit! The cheesecake was light and airy and it wasn't dense like some cheesecakes can be (I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake for this reason). I was so excited to make this because my grocery store had key limes for sale and they're my favorite so I grabbed a bunch - my one tip for juicing the key limes is to use a garlic press because getting the 1/2 cup of juice takes a little bit of time! The oven trick that's listed in the recipe works and the cheesecake didn't crack which also made me pretty happy! I will be making this again for sure!

    • Melizabeth1 on April 17, 2026

These are so good. I make half the recipe but otherwise no changes.

  • Chewy chocolate chip cookies

    • Evenbetterthanmama on October 06, 2025

      Perfect cookies.

    • courtney_nb7i83 on March 01, 2026

These are our new go-to chocolate chip cookies. Don’t skip the chilling step or the lumpy cylinder cookie shaping! 14-16 minutes was the sweet spot for my oven bake time. I also rotated the cookie sheet halfway through baking. Look for a bit of browning around the edges.

    • gretchen_mcldh6 on March 02, 2026

These are so easy to make and really good! I'll definitly make them again. Make sure that you shape the dough like cylinders when you put the dough in the cookie sheet.

    • anya_sf on March 02, 2026

Quintessential classic chocolate chip cookies - just the right sweetness, softness, amount of chips. My cookies took 15 min to bake. I got 11 cookies from 1/2 recipe, as stated.

    • angela_woef21 on March 03, 2026

      Love this recipe

    • dmdmdmmm on May 02, 2026

I dread making cookies bc they never seemed to work for me, but this one did! It was good!!!!

    • donna_kyk965 on May 31, 2026

      Delicious!!

    • melissa_tk29pj on June 04, 2026

This is the best chocolate chip recipe I’ve ever made. I make several batches, shape them and store in the freezer to have fresh cookies on demand. My husband loves them.

  • Soft sugar cookies

    • megbgraham on December 23, 2025

Used this recipe for Christmas shaped cookies my kids decorated. They turned out perfectly! They made more cookies than listed. I’ll definitely be using this recipe again.

  • Pistachio crinkles

    • Abchmiel on February 09, 2026

Loved these! Had to improvise as I thought I had oranges but didn’t, so I used orange juice and orange peel from penzeys. I skipped the food dye. Turned out great and so tasty!

  • Brown butter pumpkin oatmeal cookies

    • Kitsune on September 12, 2025

Delicious! I blotted the pumpkin down even more than recommended and it worked great, the cookies were still more than moist enough and had a great pumpkin flavor. Used 1 tsp vegetable oil mixed with 1 tsp water instead of the single egg yolk in the recipe and it worked great. Amazing depth of flavor with the browned butter and spices.

    • bwhip on September 26, 2025

My first bake from this book, and wow were these good! Great flavor, with the perfect amount of spice. Nice and tender, with a lightly crispy edge. The glaze makes them special, with just a dusting of spice on top. We’ll have these again.

    • megbgraham on December 23, 2025

Made these for friends and two people asked me for the recipe. Big hit! Even my husband who doesn’t like pumpkin liked them.

  • Chocolate-covered cherry thumbprints

    • jasmine_1terst on December 23, 2025

Followed recipe exactly but cookies ended up spreading instead of staying in thumbprint shape. Unsure what I did wrong. Tasted good though!

  • Cracked pepper Parmesan cookies

    • AndieEats on December 27, 2025

It's pretty salty as written because of the parmesan. I would cut the salt down to 1/4t at most next time. Taste like an adult Cheez-it in cookie form!

    • KathrynEberle on April 27, 2026

This cookie is great with a little cherry jam and prosciutto

  • Thick & fudgy brownies

    • Justagirleatingcake on February 10, 2026

Not chewy or cakey. Fudgy but not too dense. Kind of perfect.

  • Birthday brookies

    • Justagirleatingcake on March 06, 2026

Made with semi sweet chips instead of white and skipped the sprinkles. This was good but I wish there was more of a texture difference between the brownie and the cookie.

    • holly_6rdxil on April 13, 2026

This was good but a lot of work. Incredibly rich, I cut them very small. They went quickly at the gathering I brought them to though and got great reviews!

  • Chai spice blondies

    • shylastrath on October 06, 2025

Love the warm spice flavor. Be quick with the drizzle before it sets up in the bowl. I doubled it in a 9x13 pan - worked great. Just add a bit of time in the oven. Used extra white chocolate chips for the drizzle.

  • Jammin' strawberry crumb bars

    • brenda_bv2nm8 on February 25, 2026

Best thing I've made in a long time. Pretty sure you could use the base recipe and switch out with a different jam of your choosing - peach, raspberry, etc.

  • Gingerbread cookie bars

    • megbgraham on December 23, 2025

These were incredible! Super cute for the holidays. The frosting was so good.

    • laws on January 09, 2026

This is great and everyone loved it! I've made it twice - once with the frosting and once without. Both were delicious!

    • Baltiville on January 13, 2026

I saw this in a cookie box on IG and had to bake them. These were devoured by our friends on NYE. So proud of Sally, a Baltimore neighbor, and adore this book and this fabulous recipe. The cream cheese frosting puts this over the top into the 5 Star rating. I’ve never used sprinkles for cookies bars and am a new convert. Thanks Sally!!!

    • TinkerTaylor on January 18, 2026

Delicious! Used icing sugar and stem ginger syrup for a light icing

  • Vanilla bean shortbread bars

    • courtney_wuqvpw on March 01, 2026

      Delicious shortbread cookies.

    • courtney_wuqvpw on March 01, 2026

      Buttery shortbread cookies.

    • courtney_nb7i83 on March 01, 2026

I actually had fresh vanilla beans on-hand and they made the dish. You can find them online and are great for making homemade vanilla!

  • Millionaire's shortbread bars

    • megbgraham on September 26, 2025

These are absolutely incredible. Very rich though! I had guests asking for the recipe.

    • Pandan on May 05, 2026

These turned out just ok. I thought I would love these but somehow I didn’t. The shortbread part was too greasy. I added a bit more flour because the dough was too soft (I weighed all ingredients), but the shortbread still didn’t have the right consistency (maybe due to German butte & flour?). Too bad because all the other instructions were easy to follow but I will look for another millionaires shortbread recipe.

  • Salted brown butter pecan pie bars

    • anya_sf on March 08, 2026

Really great. Had to bake the crust an extra 5 min, but otherwise followed directions exactly. The bars were not too sweet or gooey like many pecan pie bars (and because of that the salt on top could be skipped), sliced neatly, and had a tender, yet sturdy, crust.

  • Chocolate ganache cake

    • Justagirleatingcake on January 02, 2026

Loved this cake. Take your time and make it over 2 days. Worth the effort for sure.

    • EatinSnax on March 01, 2026

Made this for my chocoholic daughter’s birthday, and thought it was great. Definitely got every bowl in the kitchen dirty, but the result was worthy of a special occasion. Might choose to skip the chocolate chips next time. Since the cake must be chilled for the mousse, the chocolate chips are present as solid chunks of chocolate throughout. I didn’t feel like the hard chunks added much to an otherwise very tender cake.

  • Soft & moist white vanilla cake

    • d.giginyc on March 10, 2026

This was the cloudiest vanilla cake I’ve ever tasted. It’s almost like a pound cake and a chiffon cake had a baby. It literally melted in mouth. Whipping the egg whites and sugar to create that cream like consistency definitely made all the difference. This was my first time baking a cake with sour cream and I’ll definitely do it again. I think this is a really good recipe if you want to make cakes that don’t require you to need too much structure for decorating because I’d be nervous that it would just crumble (in a good way lol)

  • Strawberry cake

    • andreapcoburn on May 21, 2026

This was a lot of work, but good. The frosting is exceptional. I did not use any food coloring and the cake was not very pretty - next time I’ll add a bit of red. I also feel like there needed to be just a bit more frosting to adequately frost the cake. I will make this again.

  • Almond poppy seed loaf cake

    • rebeka_eveksv on February 12, 2026

Really good! Didn't even make the syrup as the cake itself was sweet enough.

    • anya_sf on June 04, 2026

Very good. I could see swapping out some of the wheat flour for almond flour for even more almond. I tented my cake with foil after 40 min and it took about 65-70 min to bake.

  • Lemon lavender olive oil cake

    • KathrynEberle on April 27, 2026

So good. Gorgeous easy cake. Perfect for high tea gathering.

  • Simply perfect vanilla cupcakes

    • jayde_44t6u9 on February 08, 2026

      Perfectly fine, classic cupcakes

    • heyksquared on February 19, 2026

Really lovely vanilla cupcakes! I did find the icing recipe made a lot, but I’m not sure how I would have trimmed down the ratio. I got 15 cupcakes and they took 18 minutes to bake.

  • How to parbake pie crust

    • KateS27 on March 29, 2026

Made this with vegan butter for a vegan coconut cream pie! I need to work on my crust skills, but it was yummy!

  • Double pie crust

    • dmdmdmmm on April 18, 2026

I used this for a pie recipe not in the book and, while I made errors bc I wasnt working fast enough, the crust tasted great! So buttery.

  • Sky-high chocolate mousse pie

    • megbgraham on November 28, 2025

Really rich pie. Very tasty but super rich!

  • Ultimate stone fruit crisp

    • anya_sf on March 08, 2026

Won't rate, didn't make the whole recipe, just used the filling instructions for some frozen cherries - very good.

    • narayani_iunahx on April 26, 2026

Sally is always a winner! This is a rhubarb crumble since it’s that time of year, served warm with vanilla ice cream is simply heaven

  • Ultimate caramel apple crisp

    • fultre on March 07, 2026

Made this for Thanksgiving 2025, without caramel. Was loose with ingredient quantities and thought it could’ve been sweeter—probably my fault for tinkering, and skipping caramel.

  • Simple strawberry rhubarb crumble

    • anya_sf on March 30, 2026

Super quick and easy to throw together, as the crumble uses melted butter. I made 1/2 recipe with slightly more strawberries and frozen rhubarb (which was already sliced into 1/2-1" pieces). There was just enough topping for the filling. Good texture, just the right sweetness. My new go-to.

  • Chocolate chip crumb cake

    • cookingbychapter on September 07, 2025

decent cake, nothing spectacular. Has a lovely soft texture.

    • Evenbetterthanmama on October 06, 2025

These were just OK. Tasted better the next day after sitting in the fridge overnight.

    • janetjanetjanet on April 18, 2026

It was a mid coffee cake. Not as plush and moist as I would have liked. And there was something missing with the flavour?

  • Rough puff pastry dough

    • anya_sf on April 27, 2026

Haven't used this yet, just made the dough to freeze for later. But I really appreciated the photos and detailed instructions. My dough chilled overnight. The first few turns were easy to roll, but by the end, I did need to let the dough relax before rolling. Update: after thawing overnight in the fridge, the dough was relatively easy to roll, although it did want to shrink back towards the end. Baked up beautifully flaky with great buttery flavor.

  • Sausage, egg & cheese turnovers

    • anya_sf on May 16, 2026

Delicious! Rich and salty in a good way. I had made the dough a couple weeks ahead, frozen, then thawed overnight. It wasn't too hard to roll out, but did want to shrink back a little. The filling barely fit in the squares, so next time I would try rolling the dough slightly larger. I had to moisten the edges with water for them to stick. Chilled the turnovers overnight before baking in the morning. Stupidly forgot to make steam vents, but luckily they did not explode. Baked an extra 5 min for more color. The pastry was wonderfully flaky.

  • The crowd's favorite cinnamon rolls

    • krista_nne1g9 on January 25, 2026

Filling needs a little something more, otherwise were amazing

  • Hot 'n' fresh bagels

    • courtney_wuqvpw on March 01, 2026

My first bagel recipe and it turned out great! We added everything bagel seasoning.

    • courtney_nb7i83 on March 01, 2026

These turned out great! I added everything bagel seasoning and salt to them and it was delicious. I couldn’t find barley malt syrup and the recommended substitutes worked great. Make sure to get the dough to the right consistency - be patient.

    • c_rval6r on April 27, 2026

Used granulated sugar instead of brown sugar, and honey for the water bath instead of barley syrup. Kneaded for double the time - stand mixer and by hand - because the dough was so tough I was nervous they would be dense but came out perfect. Requires patience but worth it.

  • Lemon blueberry scones

    • heyksquared on January 03, 2026

At 400 after 22 minutes (Sally’s minimum recc), these were a little more done than I would have liked. I should have checked a little closer to the 18-20 minute mark. The icing, compared to her photos, was also a little thinner than I would have liked, and probably could have been skipped.

  • Chocolate chip scones

    • diane_6k48ti on May 30, 2026

Very good. I followed the recipe as written for the chocolate chip scones. Will make again.

    • diane_6k48ti on May 30, 2026

Very good, followed recipe for the chocolate chip scones. Will make again.

  • Baked chocolate cake donuts

    • ldyndiuk on October 14, 2025

These donuts came out well. The glaze, though, comes together like an extremely thick frosting that is barely spreadable, never mind dippable. I made two batches, following the instructions carefully, and they were both like this. I just had to keep microwaving it so it would become liquid enough to get on the donuts. But I’m happy with the finished product!

  • Apple cider spice bread

    • megbgraham on September 17, 2025

Delicious! My kids and husband loved this recipe. Very easy, I’ll definitely be making it again.

    • AllisonML on February 25, 2026

this was fine, it wasn’t very apply or cider-y and the cider took forever to cook down.

  • Cinnamon swirl quick bread

    • BrendaD1962 on October 31, 2025

I thought this quick bread was just ok. My husband enjoyed it more than I did, but I have better recipes. Won’t be repeating.

  • Easy beer bread

    • Jkbailey on February 22, 2026

I’m surprised at how much I loved this one. I’ve made beer breads in the past and haven’t particularly cared for any of them. This recipe is super easy and is my favorite by far of any beer quick breads I’ve tried. My family loved it. I will definitely make this often.

    • EatinSnax on February 26, 2026

This one’s a keeper. Super easy and quick. I had it together before my oven was hot. The whole family enjoyed it alongside vegetable soup. I could see the salty honey/butter/beer flavor working really well with chili.

    • courtney_nb7i83 on March 01, 2026

This was so simple to make. The recipe worked perfectly as written. I used a Marzen-style beer for its malty flavor. You can use lagers, ales, or stouts. Fun to try with different ones!

  • Date & walnut soda bread

    • hbakke on March 24, 2026

Really delicious! This was great sliced and spread with salted butter.

  • The banana bread loved around the world

    • abrownb1 on November 13, 2025

Really good banana bread! I used sour cream and half granulated sugar / half brown sugar and was perfectly sweet and moist. While delicious, it won't be my go to because remembering to take out ingredients to get to room temp and creaming butter is a bit too fussy for quick bread but I will definitely break it out for special occasions.

    • Lepa on January 08, 2026

This is a good banana bread. I used brown sugar and added walnuts. It's less sweet than other banana breads and wonderful with some salted butter.

    • krista_fcgy12 on January 14, 2026

I was hopeful that this truly would be the best, but found it to be a tad dry and not tha full of flavor. I’ve had lots of banana bread that’s better.

    • courtney_nb7i83 on March 08, 2026

Was a moist, delicious banana bread and a solid recipe. It’s a bit more tedious than other banana bread recipes but turned out great. We used brown sugar and added chocolate chips.

    • c_rval6r on April 27, 2026

      The best

    • madison_y4x5bd on May 17, 2026

More work than most banana bread recipes, and turned out a little dry!

    • dmdmdmmm on May 22, 2026

I LOVED it! It turned out perfect and reminded me of banana bread I used to have when I was younger. This will probably be my go-to banana bread recipe!

  • Banana Nutella muffins

    • juliaiscooking on September 14, 2025

This taste so good! I didn't use the streusel one because I don't have any hazelnut (and my kids is not fond of nuts) so I just used turbinado sugar with cinnamon as the topping to give texture and it worked for us. It's moist and sweet. Kids and husband love it. Will definitely make this one again.

    • EatinSnax on February 13, 2026

These came out great! The Nutella inside is a treat of course, but the muffin recipe is really solid on its own. Good banana flavor and a texture that is moist without being gummy. Edit: I made these again without the add-ins, and I think these are objectively perfect banana muffins as a base recipe. Note that they were done a few minutes earlier without the filling.

    • Jkbailey on February 22, 2026

This recipe alone was worth the price of the book. My kids are nuts about these muffins! I don’t bother with the streusel topping. It’s a great way to use up bananas that are getting too ripe.

    • anya_sf on May 16, 2026

I made 1/2 recipe, mixing the batter the night before baking. I was out of hazelnuts, so I skipped the topping and didn't miss it, although it would have made the muffins prettier. Baking time was as stated. The muffins were really tasty, but quite sweet of course. A nice treat for Nutella lovers.

    • sara_gy6qsd on May 30, 2026

So good, my kids love them. I omit the streusel topping based on other reviewers suggestions to make it easier and I feel they are sweet enough.

  • Ultimate apple cinnamon muffins

    • aqbailey on February 17, 2026

Delicious, would make again! I used Greek yogurt and I substituted aquafaba for the eggs (3 tbl per egg) since I had some to use up.

  • Ultimate lemon poppy seed muffins

  • Chocolate chip muffins

    • madison_y4x5bd on May 17, 2026

Really delicious muffin recipe! These turned out fluffy and super tasty, and rose beautifully. I added raspberries in addition to the chocolate chips. Yielded 14 muffins

  • Spiced carrot oat muffins

    • Lepa on February 01, 2026

These were okay. I have tried several spiced carrot muffin recipes and these are probably my least favorite.

    • heyksquared on February 11, 2026

Delicious! I brought them into my office and received rave reviews. I did omit the nuts, as I know some people don’t enjoy them in baked goods. The muffins took about 20 minutes for me to prepare, and after the first five minutes baking at 400, were done after 17 minutes at 350.

    • anya_sf on May 30, 2026

Very hearty, not too sweet, slightly crumbly. I mixed the batter the night before; baking time was 5 min longer. The batter mounded quite high, but the muffins did not rise much. Not bad, but not my favorite carrot muffin.

  • Cranberry cornbread muffins

    • LindaMM1 on March 17, 2026

Just ok. Not a lot of flavour.

  • Pizza dough (& homemade pizza)

    • AllisonML on February 25, 2026

We make pizza once a week and this is my new go to recipe. It is basically foolproof. I do use bread flour instead of all purpose.

    • heyksquared on May 09, 2026

This was a *tremendous* recipe, and as the other commenter noted, nearly foolproof (even working with some expired yeast, as I was, shh!) The dough rose beautifully, and was pillowy soft. I’ll be making this again.

    • heyksquared on May 21, 2026

And now for the pizza! This was great, and super easy dough to work with. Pizza was done in 13 minutes.

  • Stromboli

    • Singleta417 on October 11, 2025

This was a great recipe! Fun to make and the results came out excellent. I did an Italian version with salami, mortadella, schiacciata piccante and provolone. I made two and froze one before baking (you can find her instructions for this on her website.) I have already brainstormed a bunch of filling combinations and this dish will be on rotation for Friday Pizza Nights.

    • Partyof7 on October 27, 2025

I found a homemade pizza crust in my freezer and was so excited to make stromboli! I used deli pepperoni, salami, shredded whole milk mozzarella and a little drained ricotta because I love it. I baked them on a pizza stone and parchment and they were amazingly delicious. There was quite a bit of grease as it baked which would have been much better contained on a sheet pan instead of the pizza stone. Delicious. Reheated leftover Stromboli in a toaster oven at 375 for about 22 mins, covered with foil for the first 10 mins.

    • Lepa on December 29, 2025

This was very easy and my family loved it. Now that I have another ball of dough in the freezer this would be a very quick and easy dinner.

    • heyksquared on May 09, 2026

Loved this recipe! Wow, yum. I used Sally’s homemade pizza dough, and filled with big pepperoni and mozzarella slices. Admittedly, I should have worked with something a little thinner, as I found it a little tricky to roll up nicely. Even still, it baked up great, and my family loved it. I served with warm red sauce, as Sally suggests.

    • anne_xzj2j6 on April 23, 2026

Easy and delicious! I’ll confess I used Trader Joe’s refrigerated dough, as well as Trader Joe’s garlic butter (both great shortcuts!!), but I’ll make it again more homemade sometime :)

  • Cinnamon raisin swirl bread

    • Rinshin on May 23, 2026

      Recipe at https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/homemade-cinnamon-swirl-bread/

    • anya_sf on May 22, 2026

Really good version of this bread. The dough was easy to work with and not too sticky. It rose beautifully in the oven. My loaf took 10 min longer to bake but I think my oven temp was off. We loved it toasted with butter.

  • Oatmeal wheat sandwich bread

    • anya_sf on April 21, 2026

I did the 1st overnight option, chilling the dough 15 hours to no ill effect, although the shaped loaf took 2.5 hours to rise in my cool kitchen. My oven must be off again as the bread took 15 min longer to bake. The bread was fairly hearty and dense, moist, and sliced neatly. It was delicious toasted with honey.

    • courtney_nb7i83 on March 01, 2026

Our go-to everyday bread. I make this at least every other week. This recipe is forgiving and works well resting overnight in the fridge before baking. Follow the author’s notes and trust yourself!

  • Crescent rolls

    • Jkbailey on February 22, 2026

These turned out great! I had no idea the were so easy to make. My kids loved them! Recipe makes a lot!

  • Soft pretzels

    • heyksquared on February 08, 2026

A good little weekend project! I thought making the dough was super easy, but struggled with rolling my ropes nicely. Finally got a hang of it by the end, and my last couple turned out pretty well. This made 11 pretzels for me (and I weighed the dough as I measured.) The cheese sauce paired well, and was luscious and rich. I so appreciate Sally’s diligence in making sure recipes work!

    • carlos_jobw02 on January 02, 2026

I used lye instead of baking soda bath

    • Juleslovesgoldies on May 24, 2026

Delicious and easier than I thought. Big hit with the family, it’s a keeper.

    • krista_nne1g9 on February 02, 2026

Comes together really well- also have shapes and boiled, then froze them to bake later. *They need to be tented for part of the time if you are baking from frozen so they don’t overbrown

    • allyson_yyzq0r on March 31, 2026

This recipe typically yields 15 rolls, and I cook it for 18 minutes. May just be my oven but they rarely need more time.

  • The focaccia of your dreams

Delish! Perfect accompaniment to Sally’s pretzels.

This was labor-intensive but worth it. I used fresh rosemary and chopped garlic. I made this the day before and after the second rise, refrigerated overnight before baking and it turned out beautifully. Great for family occasions and gifts too.
