Pared down in all senses -- manageable physical size, updated, and authoritatively helpful for planning. An excellent gift.

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Hot-crab and pimiento-cheese spread

    • Kjohns101 on March 25, 2017

I've made this twice. It's a hit for a party. Rich dish so good to serve with some veggies too.

  • Chinese five-spice pecans

    • hirsheys on January 10, 2019

I made these and found them strange the first time I tasted them (while they were warm), but they have grown on me. They were easy to make and the coating tastes good even on the few non-pecan nuts I threw in to make up the full 2.5 cups. (I halved the recipe - it still made a ton!) My office mates will definitely like these!

  • Miso-honey wings

    • Rinshin on October 17, 2015

Since I don't care for sweet tasting main dish, I cut back on honey. The taste was good but wanted to up the brightness and added 1 lime juice and grated zest. Great tasting sauce to brush on the wings.

  • Sidecar

    • tarae1204 on December 31, 2021

Super smooth and beautifully aromatic cocktail, be careful with the lemon.

  • Pickled shrimp

    • pvia on December 15, 2015

Absolutely wonderful. Made for a holiday party two days ahead. Gone from the table in just a few minutes.

  • Fried sweet-potato ravioli

    • pvia on December 15, 2015

I have made this recipe twice now. They are wonderful and can be frozen. Even people who say they do not like sweet potatoes cannot get enough of this appetizer.

  • Caramelized onion and bacon dip

  • Cauliflower-spinach dip

    • FlowerGold on October 28, 2024

A healthy dip alternative. Lighter than hummus. Use juice from 1 large lemon. The flavor really comes from the lemon, garlic, salt and pepper. Also used more olive oil for consistency. Would redo.
