  • Grilled eggplant and mint salad

    • wester on April 11, 2017

Very tasty. I roasted the vegetables in the oven. I also omitted the honey and the cheese, and did not miss either of them.

  • Beef burgers with fried tomatoes and chillies

    • wester on September 16, 2013

Excellent. I made this into meatballs instead of burgers, and they were just bursting with flavor. The seasonings brought out the flavor of the meat really well without being overpowering. I was afraid the balls/burgers might be too hot with this amount of mustard, but they were fine for children too (if you leave off the chillies, but those are on the meat, not inside). A keeper.

I made a couple small tweaks to this recipe and it turned out great. I would definitely make again...... *I was out of worcester sauce. I substituted 2 tbsp of oyster sauce for the 2 tbsp of worcester. *I didn't have dijon mustard but I did have Annie's Horseradish Mustard and substituted the horseradish mustard for the dijon mustard. *Instead of four larger size hamburger patties, I made eight smaller slider size hamburger patties. *For the buns, we used soft Hawaiian rolls that we toasted in the over and melted cheddar cheese on top of. *We diced onions, jalapenos, and sweet peppers and made a hash topping for the burgers. *We mashed some avocado with a pinch of salt and added it inside the roll. *We added a nice dollop of tzatziki sauce from the grocery store deli section instead of mayo. Very good. Everyone was happy. No complaints.

  • Eggplant and potato tarts

    • wester on May 22, 2010

This was very tasty and not complicated to make. I don't know why it was recommended for picknicks as they are completely unstackable and thus very difficult to get to the picknick unscathed. Something for a big garden party. I made the filling the day before, which worked beautifully. The amount of oil needed to fry the eggplants in made it totally unnecessary to drizzle on more oil in the end.

  • Spaghetti with lemon, chilli, garlic and rocket

    • meggan on November 28, 2012

This did not have a good pasta to sauce ratio. I would use less than the 12 oz of pasta next time.
