Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Chorizo, spinach and ricotta frittata

    • Psipsi on November 11, 2017

Quick and simple yet very satisfying.

  • Grilled chicken with caramelised balsamic tomatoes

    • Breadcrumbs on March 31, 2013

      p. 18 - This simply grilled chicken wowed when combined with the heavenly caramelized tomatoes. This was ridiculously flavourful and the sweet caramel flavours combined with the creamy bocconcini was a match made in heaven. DH has you add some fresh basil just prior to serving. Unfortunately I didn’t have any on hand but I do have some homemade pesto in the freezer so I broke off a piece and stirred it into the hot-from-the-oven tomatoes to give them a kiss of basil. mr bc loved this so much he ate 2 helpings…thus leaving us w no leftovers. This recipe will be top of mind when our garden is abundant with tomatoes this summer. A keeper! Photos here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/895710#7987413

  • Olive and almond couscous with oregano lamb

    • jaxstar84 on August 05, 2012

Delicious! Very quick and easy, bump up almond/olives for punchier couscous. Loved it.

  • Chicken with haloumi and honey

    • SharonS on May 15, 2012

Great, quick dish, this has become a family favourite. Very easy, moist chicken, squeaky cheese and a lemony honey sauce!

  • Sticky chilli chicken

    • jaxstar84 on July 12, 2012

Really yummy - just watch the sauce, it goes from "thickened" to evaporated quite fast!

  • Baked Italian chicken

    • Astrid5555 on December 13, 2014

Delicious! The pancetta infuses the chicken breast with a great smoky flavor. Next time I would add the chicken breast together with all the other ingredients right from the start since the pancetta was almost burnt after 40 minutes in the oven. Served with oven potato wedges.

  • Chicken rice noodle salad with coconut milk dressing

    • Astrid5555 on January 07, 2014

Quick and easy way of using leftover chicken, but not a culinary highlight. Was just ok. Added some avocado and dry-roasted peanuts for crunch.

  • Coriander and lime chicken tortillas

    • Dishyrishie on April 20, 2017

      Good but fairly boring.

  • Roasted pumpkin and couscous salad

    • berman4 on June 22, 2012

Awesome easy Recipe for a great lunch.

  • Lemon, chicken and basil pasta

    • jane.geordan on May 07, 2015

Fabulous quick dinner - very tasty! I tend to add more lemon juice and also Olives which seem to work well with the flavours.

  • Gourmet beef burgers

    • Zosia on June 09, 2015

Flavour was very good but I preferred it with only 1 slice of pancetta. Also very good with back bacon (cooked separately).

  • Garlic prawn pasta

    • Astrid5555 on December 29, 2015

Very good and quick pasta dish. Will go into regular rotation.

  • Ricotta shells with roasted tomato sauce

    • Astrid5555 on October 14, 2014

One of the rare winners with the whole family, weeknight-friendly. Love the tomato sauce, which consists of simply roasting tomato slices with garlic and olive oil, finally topped with ricotta filled pasta shells and lots of cheese.

  • Spinach and feta pies

    • mondraussie on January 01, 2013

Add a little dill to make this recipe shine!

  • Pasta with asparagus and Taleggio

    • Astrid5555 on June 18, 2016

Nice enough pasta dish, do use the Taleggio cheese otherwise a bit bland.

  • Simple Thai fish cakes

    • lou_weez on October 26, 2017

Good, but not great. I did, accidentally, use sweet chill sauce instead of the chill jam stated in the recipe. Serving size is small, lucky none of us were particularly hungry!!

  • Field mushroom galette

    • Zosia on March 12, 2015

Easy to put together and quite tasty but with so few ingredients, you do want to use the most flavourful you can find, especially the mushrooms which are really the star. And don't forget to season the ricotta. I used frozen puff pastry and made single serving tarts.

  • Roasted carrot and parsnip salad

    • jaxstar84 on July 14, 2012

Delicious - used danish fetta and toasted almonds, served with chicken.

    • e_ballad on June 13, 2017

Yum, yum, yum. Creamy salty labne, sweet but savoury root vegetables & crunch from the hazelnuts - an absolute winner.

  • Cashew and chilli beef stir-fry

    • Dishyrishie on February 20, 2015

Bit bland - needs more sauce of some kind.

  • Ginger poached chicken with coriander dressing

    • Dishyrishie on July 09, 2015

A great easy weeknight meal that is quick! The sauce in particular is excellent and would make a good salad dressing.

  • Smoky chilli chicken burger

    • Hellyloves2cook on May 06, 2012

This is divine. Marinate chicken for a few hours. After chicken cooked takes no time at all to prepare the bread, leaves and lemon mayo. Has satisfied many adults and teenagers at a barbeque! Even my 7 yr old will attempt the chicken- although I also cook a plain piece of chicken for him as after a few bites his mouth is feeling the Chilli hit!

  • Slow-cooked balsamic and garlic lamb

    • JanetteF on February 02, 2015

      This ia amazing!!!
