      This is the gingerbread from my childhood! Absolutely delicious ...but even better if you can bear to leave it wrapped up for a few days (no chance with my husband around!). I made this in my 9x9 inch deep cake tin as I didn’t have a tin the right size. It worked beautifully. This will be made again and again.

      Cracker of a recipe! In the headnote Mary says this is her idea of heaven and after making it I can see why. It’s so ridiculously easy that it’s hard to believe something so simple tastes so good. I had to wrap up half a loaf and give it away before I ate it all myself.
